Nothing to gossip about this week. Sigh.

Nothing to gossip about this week. Sigh.

Gossip Girl: A repeat this week?  Thanks a lot, CW.  Thanks a lot.

Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playist: The secret love child of Juno and Superbad?

Michael Cera: A new breed of heartthrob.  Swoon.

Nicholas Sparks: His umpteenth book of love found, lost and found again is bound  to be another best-seller (and an addition to our favorite books list).  But isn’t it weird how this guy writes the woman’s perspective so well?

Paul Newman: Guess when you bite the dust you’re not supposed to say anything bad about the person (see: page after page in PEOPLE).  Kind of makes you wonder what’ll happen when Mel Gibson goes down.  Just sayin’…

Like father, like daughter.

Like father, like daughter.

ScarJo and Ryan Reynolds: Hey Alannis, you, um, oughta know Ryan and Scarlett are totally married now.  Oh, you don’t care?  No worries, we don’t either.

DWTS: Sorry Kim, some people just don’t like big butts and they cannot lie.  Still, to get voted off on the anniversary of your father’s death is pretty shitty.  Sorry about that.

Heath Ledger: Suicide, accident or just his time, it doesn’t matter.  Why is there so much red tape in getting Matilda what she (and Ledger’s family) rightfully believe she deserves?

Paul Newman: We could be like everyone else and say our favorite Newman film is Cool Hand Luke or The Color of Money, but let’s be real.  We’re a sucker for a good tear-jearker, so our vote definitely goes to Message in a Bottle.  Rent it.  Watch it.  Love it.

The 'princess' in happier days.

The princess in happier days

David Foster Wallace: Any one else feel the need to read Infinite Jest now that this so-called literary genius is gone?  If only it weren’t 998239271 pages.

Kelsey Grammer: Did you know he’s a Republican?  One of the, like, three “out” ones in Hollywood.  We’ll never view him the same way again!

Anne Hathaway: We can’t decide if we should feel bad that her prince didn’t turn out to be so charming or if we want to laugh in her face.  Lesson learned: Even celebs aren’t lucky in love.  And always do a background check before getting serious!

Edie Falco: After all that time hanging around The Sopranos, it’s no wonder she’s ended up in the ER–on a new Showtime series, that is.   We all know creativity is lacking in Hollywood right now, but do we really need another medical drama?

Legally Blonde: The party’s over for Elle Woods.  The Broadway closing isn’t that much of a shock, what with the economy right now and an MTV reality show–aka, the kiss of death!
