The cover of West's 52-page book.

The cover of West's 52-page book.

Chris Brown: Hours after he proclaimed he’s “not a monster” in a YouTube video, news broke that he’s been slapped with a lawsuit by a photog who claims Brown’s bodyguard beat him up.  We’d say the hits just keep on coming, but that would just be a really bad pun.

PEOPLE: Put together a handy–but short–guide to some of the celebrity deejays out there.  Kind of cool.

Perez Hilton: The culprit named in E!Online’s “Stolen Quote of the Day.” Perez stealing content?  Shocking!  Or not.

Kanye West: A self-proclaimed “non-reader” who has a book–if you can even call it that–coming out.  Makes a lot of sense, doesn’t it?

Bill Clinton: Reportedly a fan of 24, Mad Men and Damages.  Do presidents not like to laugh or something?

SIZZLED OUT: Amy Winehouse

STILL SIZZLING: An oft-repeated catchprase from this iconic 90s show topped the Paley Center’s list of 5o Funniest Phrases.

This is the Britney we miss!

This is the Britney we miss!

The Bachelor: The show promised a twist-ending and we got it.  As we’ve been predicting all along, this back-and-forth can’t be good for Jason’s kid!  Just look at all the couples that have failed before!

Britney: The set list for her upcoming tour has been released and we strongly object.  We want more old-school Brit!  Way too much has changed since her last go-round.

24: They may kill a lot of characters but they’re promising not to kill the Earth.  24 is going green!  Pretty sweet, right?

Milk: With an Oscar win behind him, Sean Penn is trying to get the late Harvey Milk’s birthday officially recognized by the state of California.  Yeah, good luck with that.

Brothers and Sisters: Anyone else pissed about the misleading promo for Sunday’s night two-hour episode?  Newsday Verne Gay not only feels your pain, he’s also calling it “a promotional con job of the likes I’ve never seen before, ever, in the history of TV.”  ‘Dem’s fightin’ words, Verne!

Twitter: Did The View cause yesterday’s site outage?  That’s what Gawker wants you to believe.

SIZZLED OUT: Owen Wilson and Jennifer Aniston (Marley and Me)

STILL SIZZLING: To make his 15 minutes of fame last a little longer, this hair-raising guy just signed a six-figure book deal.

Worthy of praise and scholarly study?

Worthy of praise and scholarly study?

Obama: It was only a matter of time before a political cartoon relating to our new president caused outrage.  Freedom of the press?  Low blow? Undecided how we feel.

Solange: Beyonce’s little sis had a little scare yesterday when she passed out and woke up in the hospital.  She took to her Twitter to tell everyone the problem was just dehydration.  So is this the future of PR?

Oprah: Caught part of an episode today and saw she was communicating with guests via Skype.  So is the future of talk shows?

Oscars: If you’re not into the nominated movies (and believe us, it’s possible!), here are three other reasons to watch: Zac Efron, Miley and Robert Pattison.  Still not convinced?  Yeah, we didn’t think so.

The Hills: One of the shows that will be the subject of panels at this year’s Paley Festival.  The Hills?  Seriously?

MC Hammer: Getting his own reality show on A & E.  Didn’t know he had 5 kids!  But also not really surprised…

Katherine McPhee: In addition to appearing on an upcoming episode of Brothers & Sisters, the former American Idol contestant will do a guest stint on CSI.  Looks like someone has a case of the acting bug!

USA Today: We like this headline–‘Lost’ and ’24’: Simple titles, complex, brilliant shows.

Facebook: A recent uproar about Terms of Service changes may have been quelled but it’s still worth reading what happened and who was behind it.

SIZZLED OUT: Justin Guarini

STILL SIZZLING: This popular former game show host admits he’s not one of its “loyal” viewers.  Guess he doesn’t want to come on down to TV set.

Not everyone's favorite piano man

Not everyone's favorite piano man

24: The new season is just getting started and you better cherish every second of it.  Star Kiefer Sutherland says he could see next year being the last but that it’s ultimately up to the audience.  Funny, we thought it was up to the network!  Since when do audiences ever get their say?

Oprah: Though she was “amused” by Blagojevic saying he considered her to replace Obama in the Illinois senate, O also says she thinks she would’ve done a good job!

DWTS: Not sure if this is good news or bad but Kevin Federline will not be appearing on the next season.

Supernatural: The show suffered a devastating loss on Sunday when one of its executive producers passed away from cancer.  Not sure yet if/how this will affect the show’s future but that probably isn’t the most important thing right now.

Terrell Owens: Getting his own VH1 reality show. Just what we need.  Not that there ever is a reality show we need…

Digital TV: If you haven’t made the switch yet, you could have four more months to do so if the House and Senate can agree.  The Senate, at President Obama’s urging, already passed the bill.

The Real World: Leaving the country next season to travel oh so far away to Cancun.  We’re still waiting for The Real World: Long Island or, at the very least, The Hamptons.

Variety: The latest to be hit with layoffs.  Our job prospects are decreasing by the day…

Defamer: Making the bold prediction that The Curious Case of Benjamin Button will go 0-for-13 at the Oscars next month.

Slate: Making the even bolder claim that Billy Joel is “the worst pop singer ever.”  That is extremely harsh, even for them.  Jossip fired back with a list of their own.

SIZZLED OUT: Lauren Graham (Gilmore Girls)

STILL SIZZLING: This once popular series will be unexpectedly going on a long hiatus soon.  Hope this doesn’t mean things are gonna get ugly!

Fey on last night's Red Carpet

Fey on last night's Red Carpet

30 Rock: Yes!  Finally found Tracy Morgan and Tina Fey‘s entire acceptance speech from the Golden Globes.  Listen and laugh.  You know you want to!

Tom Brady: After fending off rumors last week that he proposed to girlfriend Gisele Bunden comes confirmation that they really are engaged–only it just happened this weekend.

NFL: The playoff ratings were better than 24 AND the Globes.  What does that tell you?

TV.com: Trying to catch up to Hulu and other competition with new deals with Sony, MGM, et al. It’s a great resource (episode guides, etc.) but not the first place we think of for video viewing.

Evolution of Dance: We were really looking forward to the second one but it was kind of disappointing.

Any Winehouse: It’s the divorce no one will be unhappy about.  “Blake incarcerated” is seeking to end his marriage to the mess of a singer.

NYT: Asking (and sort of answering) the question we all have–“Why can’t the most powerful person in the world keep his BlackBerry?”

We want wedding pictures!

We want wedding pictures!

Fergie: Tied the knot this weekend with longtime boyfriend Josh Duhamel.  In attendance: Black Eyed Peas, Vanessa Marcil, Mario Lopez and more.

24: The two-night premiere begins tonight.  Curious to see the ratings.

Golden Globes: If 24 isn’t your thing (and, we admit, it isn’t for us), awards season kicks into high gear tonight with the Globes.  Did you know the trophy was redesigned this year?

Gran Torino: Very interesting but not for the thin-skinned.  We thought all of the actors except for Clint Eastwood were really bad…and then found out it was their first movie for a lot of them.

Revolutionary Road: We saw this this weekend and the audience was laughing a lot.  Not sure if they were supposed to…

Bono: His first New York Times op-ed column was published today.

Kanye West: Babbling once again.  This time it’s about wanting “devoted” and “core” fans rather than people who just like him because his songs are popular right now.

Perez Hilton: Again he proves what a fake he is by admitting in a new interview that he never watches television (and yet reports on it like he does!) and has his mom do everything gas his car to walk his dog (and yet makes fun of other celebs for having assistants!).

SIZZLED OUT: Leona Lewis

STILL SIZZLING: This actress threw her husband a birthday party this weekend, surprising him so well that he cried!

Sounds yummy to us!

Sounds yummy to us!

24: Really don’t understand what the Obama administration has to do with 24 but maybe we don’t watch enough to know?

Obama: Inspired the new Ben & Jerry’s ice cream flavor, Yes Pecan.  Get it?!

The Simpsons: In the process of making an episode written by and starring Seth Rogen.  We may actually have to tune in for this one!

Nickelodeon: Their answer to High School Musical–called Spectacular–will air in February.  Noteworthy fact: the film’s choreographer has also worked with Madonna and Britney!

Rumer Willis: The eldest daughter of Bruce and Demi will be Miss Golden Globe at the awards show tomorrow night.  As the Daily Beast asks, how will this affect her career?  “Will it Die Hard?  Like a Ghost?”

Charles Barkley: Was in fact over the legal limit when he was arrested for DUI last month.  Consequently, he’s “taking” a leave of absence from his sportscasting gig.

The Real World: Salon makes a great point: how come it took this long for the show to include a transgendered person in the cast?  Oh, yeah.  Because it’s no longer cutting edge!

Jossip: Has an interesting article examining the possible futures of CBS.  In their words, “own the world or crash and burn.”

SIZZLED OUT: Burger King

STILL SIZZLING: Chace Crawford and his pretty face star in this rising singer’s new video.

Some of us ARE happy with the way our shows ended, James/Dawson/new guy/whoever you are!

Some of us ARE happy with the way our shows ended, James/Dawson/new guy/whoever you are!

Britney: We LOVE the Rolling Stone cover.  Can’t wait to read the full story.

Speidi: If the elopement wasn’t planned, how come US Weekly was there to report on the whole thing?  Fishy as always.  (Both US Weekly and Speidi!)

OTH: Last night’s episode was PHENOMENAL, but, unfortunately, it’ll have to hold us over until January.  And will it pick back up where it left off or will time have passed like in reality? Thankfully, Mark Schwahn gave one of his best interviews in a while and we’ll be analyzing it over and over again for at least the next month.

OTH Pt. 2: Was James Van Der Beek playing Dawson 5 years later or one of the shiteous directors Dawson faced when he went off to LA?  Best line: “If there’s one thing I know, it’s that audiences get crazy over who ends up together.”  You don’t say?!

Gossip Girl: Not on last night but back next week.  In the meantime, Kristin has some interesting scoop.  She says the Lily and Rufus back-story might play out on the web.  Would people actually tune in…er…log on for that?

PEOPLE: Already has a comprehensive Best of 2008 site up, where you get to share what was hot and what was not.   (Kind of reminds you of Sizzle, doesn’t it?)

Mad Men: The suits are hoping the show’s popularity will increase with a musical revue.  We don’t really see how those are related AT ALL.

24: The prequel scored higher than a lot of television shows do each week, but probably not high enough.  Oh, the irony.

Obama: Some say a new comedian will take over for Fred Armisen on SNL.  SNL insists otherwise.  But who else is there?

Box Office: With everyone’s wallet a little tighter these days, we doubt early Wednesday, pre-Thanksgiving, openings are going to help films one bit.  Sorry, Sean Penn, Nicole Kidman, Vince Vaughn and the rest of you who are hedging your bets.

BSB: Guess someone was listening (reading?) when we said the entire group should’ve reunited on TRL last week.

Chinese Democracy: Banned in China in more ways than one.

SIZZLED OUT: Nicollette Sheridan and David Spade

STILL SIZZLING: Which former boy bander just designed a public bathroom for Times Square?  Perhaps this is why he, too, was too busy to join his former bandmates at the TRL finale.

kjhhkjh

Hey baby! Rock steady!

24: Friendly reminder that the 2-hour prequel airs tonight on Fox.

Lost: TV Guide says there’s a subliminal message in the trailer for the upcoming season.  Anyone figure out what it means?

Michelle Williams: In an interview with Newsweek, the actress says how she struggled–and still does–in the months since Heath’s death.  The article is heartbreaking.

Josh Schwartz: Says he hopes Gossip Girl will be in its 22nd season in 20 years, then says he’s kidding.  Somehow, we don’t think he is.

SAG: An actor’s strike is looming.  There will be tears.

No Doubt: After a baby-making and solo-project filled hiatus, the band is getting back together for a summer tour.  Hella good!

Twilight: Having such a great opening weekend, the next installment just got the green light.  We’re pretty sure we won’t see that one, either.

Gawker: A fun look at the celebrity couples that “boggle the mind and tug at the heart.”

Seinfeld: The show lives!

SIZZLED OUT: Anna Wintour (Vogue)

STILL SIZZLING: Which celebrity had this to say about her upcoming film: “I wish it was ‘She’s Just Not That Into You’! Unfortunately, it’s ‘He’s Just Not That Into You.’ The other would be more empowering.”  Considering her love life lately, this attitude comes as no surprise.

A Top Model winner that doesn't actually want to be a model?

A Top Model winner that doesn't actually want to be a model?

Travis Barker: Suing for damages suffered due to the plane crash.  Can’t say we blame him.

Usher: Baby number two is on the way.  Will he name this one Usher, too?

24: Some have speculated that the show helped Obama get elected by featuring its own black president.  Kiefer says it’s all just a bunch of hooey.

PEOPLE: This is pretty, um, sexy.  A video of 100 “sexy men” in one minute.

PEOPLE Pt. 2: Released an (internal) response to the NYT’s scathing article about their journalistic practices.  As someone with pretty good knowledge of the mag’s inner-workings, we can honestly say they’re not being given enough credit.  The suggestion that they have anything but the highest ethical standards of all the entertainment/celebrity mags is just ridiculous. And until someone is actually on the inside, they should just be quiet and stop making assumptions.  End rant. (Though, one has to wonder if they didn’t shell out obscene amounts of money for exclusive photos, maybe the layoffs wouldn’t have been necessary!)

The Sopranos: Ending leave you unsatisfied?  A Duke University professor is taking it up in a new study.

The Tyra Banks Show: Moving to the CW to help solidfy their network as a “brand destination” for women.  Or something like that.

McKey: She may have won ANTM but she still plans on going to med school.  So she went through the competition with no intention of making a lasting modeling career?  Didn’t she just take the prize away, then, from someone else who would make better use of it?

Reese Witherspoon: Thinks her kids have “been treated terribly” by the paparazzi, not having any privacy, etc.  Reese, isn’t that your own fault for choosing a Hollywood life?

SIZZLED OUT: Prince William

STILL SIZZLING: This notoriously hard-assed magazine editor brushed off questions of her rumored retirement with these lovely responses: “I think that’s an extremely rude question. Leave me alone.” and “Just go away.”  Charming, as always.
