One of our dream romantic reunions!

One of our dream romantic reunions!

NBC: Unveiled its fall programming yesterday, with several new dramas and two comedies.  The network decided to delay an announcement about “on-the-bubble” shows like Chuck and My Name is Earl.

MTV: Movie award nominations, chosen by the fans, are out and Twilight leads the pack.  Considering fans also choose the winners, we’re gonna go out on a limb and say Twilight will bring home the most bronzed popcorn.

Jessica Simpson: Admitted in a new Vanity Fair interview that she hasn’t spoken to ex-hubby Nick Lachey “in years.”  And here we are, still waiting for them to get back together!  (The other couples we haven’t given up hope for: Brad & Jen and Britney & Justin.  Yes, we know we’re deluded.  Leave us be.)

Coldplay: Facing–and ignoring–accusations that they plagiarized melody for their hit “Viva la vida.”  Is there really any way to prove this?  So much harder with music than the written word.

David Hasselhoff: Fighting back rumors that he suffered a severe case of alcohol poisoning over the weekend. The former Baywatch actor has admitted to substance abuse problems in the past, but his lawyers maintain all is well now.

Eminem: Relying on rap to get him “high” now that he’s fought his pill addiction.  We’re rooting for him, especially for the sake of his daughter.

Disney: Would you be more likely to buy an avocado if it was a High School Musical avocado?  That’s the logic Disney is working on but we can’t see parents going that far.

The Onion: Satirical publications are just as screwed as the rest of them.  The Onion, which seems to be loved by everyone but us, will no longer have a Los Angeles edition.  Don’t really understand how they’re cutting out such a huge market, but what do we know?  We’re still unemployed!

SIZZLED OUT: Family Guy

STILL SIZZLING: This rapper admits to watching an episode of Gossip Girl or two–only to learn about his film co-star, Chace Crawford.

No reason for this picture other than that this post needed a little male-ness.

No reason for this picture other than that this post needed a little male-ness.

DWTS: Guess something good can come from being dumped on national television.  Melissa, now that she’s done with The Bachelor (in more ways than one) is rumored to be replacing Nancy O’Dell.  Guess we’ll find out when the season premieres tonight!

Ashlee Simpson: As if CSI wasn’t bad enough, Simpson is taking her acting skills over to the Melrose Place remake.  Is the show doomed now?  Or was it already?

Dakota Fanning: Officially joined the Twilight sequel, New Moon.  Guess her pale skin is an asset, then?

Demi Moore: Thank god for Twitter!  Otherwise we wouldn’t know Mrs. Kutcher fights with her TiVo and watches American Idol like the rest of us!

SIZZLED OUT: Vince Vaughn

STILL SIZZLING: It’s just not funny anymore.  This TV twosome called it quits…again.

Is this story really deserving of an EW cover?

Is this story really deserving of an EW cover?

Lost: We’re starting to regret never jumping on this bandwagon.  Our chances will further be diminished once American Idol starts airing opposite it in March.  Great.

Rachel Bilson: We were rooting for her to get back with Adam Brody but we doubt that’ll happen now that she’s engaged to Hayden Christensen.

Jimmy Fallon: There’s a lot riding on him when his NBC late-night show finally starts airing.  After all, does he really want to go down in history with these failures?  We don’t think he’ll be able to hack it, but we’re a little biased since we’re not Fallon fans in the first place.

Reality TV: Believe it or not, the much-maligned genre does something well, the Los Angeles Times wants you to know.  It includes a lot more diverse characters than scripted TV.  But here’s hoping that will change with the Obama era!

Entertainment Weekly: It was bad enough when Twilight dominated the mag’s covers before and during the film’s release, but again now?  So. Over. It.  Which is kind of funny, considering we were never into it in the first place!  The TV Addict’s tongue-in-cheek cover idea is so much better!

Gawker: TIME listed them as one of the most overrated blogs.  Not surprisingly, Gawker disagrees.  (But we think we ALL can agree the spot given to PerezHilton.com is most certainly deserving!)

Fashion Week: In honor of the industry’s most important week of the year, take some time to check out Jezebel’s collection of hilarious runway-shows-gone-wrong videos.  Priceless.

Wheel of Fortune: Our episode doesn’t air til the end of the month but they’re already promoting it!  If you recall, it will be the show’s 5,000th episode. We’re famous by association!

SIZZLED OUT: Salma Hayek

STILL SIZZLING: More engagement news!  This hairy Idol contestant revealed this week that he’s getting married this summer.  (And no, it’s not Sanjaya!)

This photo is being used everywhere!

This photo is being used everywhere!

Jessica Simpson: The cover story on 3 entertainment mags/tabloids this week.  Even PEOPLE went with it.  Lame.

PEOPLE: Speaking of PEOPLE, they have very bizarre poll up asking which male actor looks the best in drag.  Is this really necessary?

American Idol: The addition of a new judge hasn’t added much to the show, but what if you cut one of the judges? MSNBC says Randy Jackson should go!

Facebook: The headline to this article says it all: Facebook Turns 5–But Can It Survive? We say yes.  It ain’t going anywhere any time soon.  And that’s not a bad thing.  Gawker shares its own opinion here.

Clay Aiken: Will be a guest judge on the new season of America’s Next Top Model, which begins later this month.  Doesn’t get much more random than that.

Emmys: The television categories will have 6 nominees from now on instead of 5, and will give all members of the Academy equal voting, in an effort to “increase inclusivity.” No matter what, someone’s still gonna be pissed, though, because you can’t recognize or include everything.

Digital TV: They’re all a bunch of flip-floppers!  After previously voting against it, Congress now ruled that the mandatory switch to digital TV won’t happen until June.

Stephen King: He better watch out.  Many a vampire might be after him now that he said Twilight author Stephanie Meyer “can’t write worth a darn” ‘Dem’s fightin’ words!

Iron Man 2: Robert Downey, Jr. promises that the sequel to last summer’s blockbuster will be “three times more fun and strange.”  Since when do fun and strange go together?

JuicyCampus: The internet just got a little less swarmier now that this gossip site, popular among college students, announced it’s closing.  About time!

Jossip: For sale, but you can hardly tell.  There’s only a little banner at the top of the site, asking for “serious inquiries.”  Damn that economy!

SIZZLED OUT: Gwyneth Paltrow (Chris Martin)

STILL SIZZLING: This off-and-on couple is apparently back on ever since he went through a “life-changing experience.”  Will another reality show follow??

Does this look like a lawyer to you?

Does this look like a lawyer to you?

Heath Ledger: His family plans on giving his Golden Globe trophy to daughter Matilda.  Rightfully so!

Slumdog Millionaire: One of the reasons ABC is considering bringing the hit show back.  Been there, done that?  We’re kind of over it…

Vanessa Hudgens: Now that HSM is long over (sniff sniff), Hudgens is trying to piggyback on to another series…Twilight.  What ever happened to ‘breaking free’?

Hilary Duff: Signed a development deal with NBC back in November and now actually has something to show for it.  Barely Legal will take on a whole new meaning!

NBC: Creating a panel of “leading women” (which apparently includes Tori Spelling) to help advertisers better market to females.

Mariska Hargitay: Word broke late yesterday that the Law & Order star has a “partially collapsed lung”…and it won’t impact her TV commitments one bit.  Surprising.  Collapsed lung sounds serious, no?

Til’ Death: Hasn’t died.  Who knew?!  Better question: who cares?

The Sopranos: 10-year anniversary.  Again, who knew?!  We feel old. (And the most important Soprano, James Gandolfini, of all has a new gig: Broadway!)

Shaquille O’Neal: Mentioned on his Twitter feed that he’s getting a doctorate in “human resource development.”  One more time, all together now: WHO KNEW?!

TMZ: You know something needs to be changed in the television industry when TMZ TV is the only show that had 52 weeks of original programming in 2008.

SIZZLED OUT: Charlotte Church

STILL SIZZLING: We’re headed to LA tomorrow to tape an appearance on this game show.  Good thing we know the alphabet!

Picture this digitized

Picture this digitized!

Critics Choice Awards: On Vh1 last night but it’s not even worth listing the winners.  Same old, same old.

CCA, Pt. 2: It is worth noting that Rooney was the first-ever house band.  How random is that?

CCA, Pt. 3: We love how, in “professional” things, Ludacris becomes Christopher Bridges.

CCA, Pt. 4: Quote of the night came from Jason Alexander, to Brangelina.  It was something like “Even if you don’t win, you get to go home with him and you get to go home with her, so it’s all good!”

CCA, Pt. 5: Who knew Richard Gere was a Buddhist?!  And hates the current administration so much?  Quite interesting.

Twilight: There’s a pretty funny spoof, High School Musical style, making it’s way around the net. You’ll probably appreciate it most if you don’t like Twilight or HSM.

Grey’s Anatomy: Getting its own videogame.  No idea why.

Smallville: Likely coming back for a season 9.  We didn’t even realize the show had been on for that long.  Time flies!

Melrose Place: Looking forward to the remake?  Well then you probably want to see where the original cast is now.

Cinemablend: Has a list of the 100 people “Most Likely To Die in 2009.”  Just so wrong…and yet, in some ways, probably right.

MTV: Should their website feature advertising for the morning-after pill? Sketchy line to cross!

DTV Transition: Worried about losing your signal when television goes all digital in February?  Congress may give you more time to make the change.  But make sure you make it!

SIZZLED OUT: The Mentalist

STILL SIZZLING: This fast-food chain is offering a deal: delete some of your Facebook friends and you’ll get a discounted burger.

Not partying together

Not partying together

90210: Tori Spelling will most likely be guest-starring on 90210 this season.  For real this time.  We think.

Oprah: Not throwing the other O an inauguration party.  We’re kind of surprised.  Thought she’d be going all out!

Twilight: So they decided not to recast the role of Jacob after all.  Not that we care.

Kelsey Grammar: Will star in a new show that’s (allegedly) reflective of the current economic state.

The Daily Beast: Suggests being more web-friendly would help Obama’s administration.  Not sure we understand.

SIZZLED OUT: Katy Perry

STILL SIZZLING: This show beat out 90210 and Fringe for favorite new TV series at the People’s Choice Awards last night.  But if you ask us, the show is kind of hard to remember.

Jennifer Lopez and the only good movie she starred in!

Jennifer Lopez and the only good movie she starred in!

Britney Spears: Comeback kid of the year, says MTV.  Wait, we thought that was Robert Downey, Jr.?

Kate Hudson: Says she wants to be single as long as possible.  Like that’ll ever happen.

Pete Wentz: Wowwwwww.  He revealed way TMI about his (sex) life with Ashlee on (where else?) The Howard Stern Show.

Jennifer Lopez: Blessing us once more with her acting skills.  To be fair, Selena was pretty amazing.

The CW: Screwed over by a change in the Nielsen ratings counting procedures.  They always pick on the little ones, don’t they?

Jessica Alba: Joining Jack Black on the Superbowl ep of The Office.

Usher: Holding a contest to let an under-18 fan shoot his next video.

Ryan Murphy: A show about high school glee clubs doesn’t sound promising but with Murphy (Nip/Tuck) at the helm, we have a little faith.

Jossip: Woah!  Major site redesign with practically no explanation!  So not okay!

SIZZLED OUT: Sean Avery

STILL SIZZLING: Michael Copon, rumored to be taking over the role of Jacob in Twilight, got a big break when he starred on this show–one of our favorites!

The family that works together, stays together?

The family that works together, stays together?

EW: Rumors about it going on-line only are false, says the mag.  That makes us happy, even if we knock them every now and again.

The Dark Knight: If the DVD is flying off the shelves, why would anyone go to see it again in theaters?

Full House: Last week we heard about a remake and now it’s not happening.  Consider us  bummed.

Gossip Girl: And don’t be fooled.  This spin-off isn’t happening, either!

Twilight: New director will likely be Chris Weitz.  His previous credits include American Pie.  Just sceams family-friendly, doesn’t it?  On the flipside, he was once nominated for an Oscar.  Screams talent?  You decide.

Harry Potter: If you love the books/films so much, you might want to book a trip to Chicago.  The Museum of Science and Industry there will have a HP exhibit through September.

Will Ferrell: And if you can’t make it to New York, too, to see his show “You’re Welcome, America.  A Final Night with George W. Bush,” stay tuned to HBO which will do a live telecast in the somewhat near future.

Maggie Gyllenhaal: Mixing business with pleasure, she and babydaddy Peter Sarsgaard (what’s with the double As?) will star together in an off-Broadway show.  Let’s hope this doesn’t mean doom for the couple, for the kid’s sake at least.

YouTube: 40 inspirational speeches, all cut from movies, in 2 minutes.  Awesome.

Gawker: Unveiled a redesign late yesterday.  It’s okay.  We’re not big fans of change, though.

Cosmetic Surgery: Do you feel like women’s mags are endorsing it?  We’ve never really thought about it, so guess that’s a no for us.

McDonald’s: Trying to start an ad war with Starbucks and we kind of like it.

KB Toys: Going out of business.  So that means Toys R Us is all that’s left, right?  Good thing that was our favorite!

SIZZLED OUT: Will Smith

STILL SIZZLING: We love this whimsical writer but people seem to be bagging on him lately.  (Hint: You can use the last name to make play on the word shadenfreude!)

Want her face?

Want her face?

SNL: Why are people so surprised by the return of Amy Poehler as Hillary Clinton?  Aside from the fact that Poehler recently had a baby, we’ll probably be seeing a lot more of Clinton on the show since she accepted the media-heavy position of Secretary of State.

Twilight: The film franchise has hit its first stumbling block: Catherine Hardwicke and Summit have parted ways.  Hardwicke will not direct the sequel, and the reason allegedly goes deeper than a simple schedule conflict.

Kanye West: NOT on Twitter!

David Gregory: The worst kept secret of late is a secret no more.  NBC officially announced Gregory as the new host of Meet the Press.

Obama: Said on the aforementioned show he won’t be smoking in the White House.  So will that be the first promise he breaks?

Tribune Company: Bankruptcy is on the horizon.  You know what follows?  More lay offs. Blek.

Barbra Streisand: Forced to share face time with arch enemy President Bush as she was honored by the Kennedy Center.  Thankfully, no blood was shed.

Facebook: Beware of the Koobface virus!

PEOPLE: Redemption!  The New York Times public editor is criticizing the piece the paper ran last month bashing PEOPLE.  Turns out the NYT got some facts wrong!  Will a retraction follow?  We sure hope so.

NYT: Not sure we should trust them anymore (see above) but they’ve just released their list of the 10 best books of 2008.  We’ve read approximately none of them.

Roger Ebert: Has “had it” with years of top 10 lists.  So what did he do instead?  Made a top 20 list.

SIZZLED OUT: Angelina Jolie and Halle Berry

STILL SIZZLING: We’re turning the tables on you.  What juicy riddle do you have?  We’ll print the best one tomorrow!
