And another one bites the dust...

And another one bites the dust...

PEOPLE: Another predictable cover: Barack Obama on Inaguration night.  At least it’s not as flashy as the other O covers out there.

Oscars: After shutting out The Dark Knight from all but one category, the Chicago Tribune wonders if the award show’s ratings will suffer.  Is there really any use in speculating, though?  We’ll find out soon enough!  (In one month, to be exact!)

NBC: As ratings continue to dive, the Peacock network is looking to reband itself (think: Must See TV).  We’ve got no ideas.  How ’bout you?

Obama: Television ratings estimates of the inaguration could be way off, says The Washington Post, since Nielsen doesn’t take into account all the people watching on the web, in school or at the office.  So, in reality, this probably was the most-watched program in history!

Obama, Pt. 2: Apparently the White House isn’t too up-to-date on the technology front.  How is that even possible?  Or acceptable?!

Sex and the City: Now that the sequel is supposedly a “go” (once again!), everyone’s wondering which of the supporting cast will be back.  Evan Handler (Charlotte’s hubby) says he hasn’t been approached yet and jokes (at least we think he’s joking!) that they could kill him off!

Katy Perry: Says give her celibacy or give her death.  Think she got the quote confused?

Backstreet Boys: Did you know Brian Littrell’s son suffers from Kawasaki disease, the same thing that afflicted Jett Travolta? And we never even heard of it before this month!

TEEN: So first they stopped home subscriptions (several years ago) and now the magazine is folding altogether.  Seventeen, you really are queen!

SIZZLED OUT: Michael Cera (Arrested Development)

STILL SIZZLING: This ailing-actor is planning a memoir on his film career and “life journey.”

Jennifer Lopez and the only good movie she starred in!

Jennifer Lopez and the only good movie she starred in!

Britney Spears: Comeback kid of the year, says MTV.  Wait, we thought that was Robert Downey, Jr.?

Kate Hudson: Says she wants to be single as long as possible.  Like that’ll ever happen.

Pete Wentz: Wowwwwww.  He revealed way TMI about his (sex) life with Ashlee on (where else?) The Howard Stern Show.

Jennifer Lopez: Blessing us once more with her acting skills.  To be fair, Selena was pretty amazing.

The CW: Screwed over by a change in the Nielsen ratings counting procedures.  They always pick on the little ones, don’t they?

Jessica Alba: Joining Jack Black on the Superbowl ep of The Office.

Usher: Holding a contest to let an under-18 fan shoot his next video.

Ryan Murphy: A show about high school glee clubs doesn’t sound promising but with Murphy (Nip/Tuck) at the helm, we have a little faith.

Jossip: Woah!  Major site redesign with practically no explanation!  So not okay!

SIZZLED OUT: Sean Avery

STILL SIZZLING: Michael Copon, rumored to be taking over the role of Jacob in Twilight, got a big break when he starred on this show–one of our favorites!

If Madonna's not dating him, we will!

If Madonna's not dating him, we will!

A-Rod: Just “friends” with Madonna, he says. “That’s it.” Guess we have to believe him.

O.J. Simpson: Sentenced to at least 15 years in jail for armed robbery. Long overdue, some will surely say.

Johnny Depp: Says being a celebrity is “mortifying.” We have no sympathy.

Oprah: The most powerful woman in entertainment, says The Hollywood Reporter. We’ll get on board with that.

Priviledged: Guess sweeps stunts aren’t over at The CW. They just scheduled Pete Wentz to guest star. Is there anything that guy doesn’t do?

Gossip Girl: Spin-off buzz is building again. We’ll believe when we see it.

Gossip Girl Pt. 2: Legit Facebook profiles of the cast?

Pepsi: Receiving major flack for suicide-themed ads in Germany. We’d like to meet the person that thought they would be a good idea.

Trailers: We’re not the only ones who like them more than movies themselves!

Rush & Malloy: One of the most famous gossip columns is going from daily to weekly. Another sign of the times?

Mollywood: The gossip blog is shutting down. Jossip will try to fill the void.

MySpace: When one door closes, another opens. Launching its own gossip site, DailyFill though their label won’t be anywhere on it. Beneficial?

Gawker: Has a pretty fair response to EW’s 25 Smarted People in TV list.

Newsday: Another job opportunity gone. Our hometown paper is laying off 100 staffers. Happy Friday!

Media Ink: Filled with more bad news.

Nielsen: Think they suck? Here’s your chance to tell them. Please don’t waste it!

The 44th president of the United State of America

The 44th president of the United States of America

Obama: ‘Good morning, Mr. President’ has a nice ring to it, doesn’t it Barack?

Music Stylists: People rich folks pay to design custom playlists to match home decor.  We’re sorry but if you are incapable of making your own playlist, you do not deserve to even have an iPod.

Heidi Klum: Double good news!  She’s not leaving the country AND she strips down to her skivvies for a new Guitar Hero commercial!  We don’t want to hear a complaint from guys for at least the next six months.

David Archuleta: Let’s hope hope the songs on his debut album aren’t as wordy as the liner notes that come with it: 3,500 words long!

Oprah: Already has a dress picked out for Obama’s January inauguration but isn’t a little presumptuous of O to assume she’ll be invited?

A Lion Among Men: The latest in a series of Wicked-related books by author Gregory Maguire.  What, you think things began and ended with The Wizard of Oz?

Tim Robbins: The staunch liberal ran into a wee bit of trouble yesterday when he went to vote.  Electioneers told him he wasn’t registered! As you may have guessed, the shit hit the fan.

TV Ratings: If you’re not an exec in the news department, you’re probably thrilled the election is over.  Networks are hoping ratings for once-popular shows will go back up.  Is the election really to blame for shrinking audiences?  Or is it just a reflection of the declining quality of TV?

Nielsen: Did you know Americans can multi-task?  The researchers over at Nielsen didn’t.  They’ve just completed a study that shows people can watch television AND be on the internet at the same time.  Shocking!

Jessica Simpson: Said in a new interview with Cosmopolitan she’s usually attracted to guys that need “saving.”  What about Nick Lachey needed saving?  He seemed pretty damn perfect to us.  Jess also says the next time she gets married “will be the last time.”  What are the odds she’s saying that again one day?

SIZZLED OUT: Kevin Connolly

STILL SIZZLING: Which rocker says he owes his existence to Joe Biden?  If not for the vice-president-elect, his parents would never have met!
