One of our dream romantic reunions!

One of our dream romantic reunions!

NBC: Unveiled its fall programming yesterday, with several new dramas and two comedies.  The network decided to delay an announcement about “on-the-bubble” shows like Chuck and My Name is Earl.

MTV: Movie award nominations, chosen by the fans, are out and Twilight leads the pack.  Considering fans also choose the winners, we’re gonna go out on a limb and say Twilight will bring home the most bronzed popcorn.

Jessica Simpson: Admitted in a new Vanity Fair interview that she hasn’t spoken to ex-hubby Nick Lachey “in years.”  And here we are, still waiting for them to get back together!  (The other couples we haven’t given up hope for: Brad & Jen and Britney & Justin.  Yes, we know we’re deluded.  Leave us be.)

Coldplay: Facing–and ignoring–accusations that they plagiarized melody for their hit “Viva la vida.”  Is there really any way to prove this?  So much harder with music than the written word.

David Hasselhoff: Fighting back rumors that he suffered a severe case of alcohol poisoning over the weekend. The former Baywatch actor has admitted to substance abuse problems in the past, but his lawyers maintain all is well now.

Eminem: Relying on rap to get him “high” now that he’s fought his pill addiction.  We’re rooting for him, especially for the sake of his daughter.

Disney: Would you be more likely to buy an avocado if it was a High School Musical avocado?  That’s the logic Disney is working on but we can’t see parents going that far.

The Onion: Satirical publications are just as screwed as the rest of them.  The Onion, which seems to be loved by everyone but us, will no longer have a Los Angeles edition.  Don’t really understand how they’re cutting out such a huge market, but what do we know?  We’re still unemployed!

SIZZLED OUT: Family Guy

STILL SIZZLING: This rapper admits to watching an episode of Gossip Girl or two–only to learn about his film co-star, Chace Crawford.

The latest example of Pixar genius

The latest example of Pixar genius

Chris Brown: The New York Times has a really interesting piece exploring why teens might be siding with him in the Rihanna case.  The court of law may decide his legal fate, but these kids get to decide whether to make or break his career.

Jennifer Lopez: Joined (ironically?) by a bunch of young C-list stars in a West Side Story photo spread in Vanity Fair.

Obama: Made some good quips with Jay Leno last night, but do people want a president that’s funny and taking time out for late-night appearances?  Or does that make him seem more “real”?

Family Guy: Here’s a nomination for weirdest cross-over in TV history.  Stewie will interact with David Boreanaz’s character on an upcoming episode of Bones.

VH1: Bringing back one of their old staples, Behind the Music.  Which is interesting considering they don’t seem to do much with music these days.  So far only Lil’ Wayne and Scott Weiland have been announced as the biography series’ subjects.

Pixar: The creators of Wall-E will have the honor of opening the prestegious Cannes Film Festival with their newest film, Up.  With their track record, it’s bound to be a hit.

Twitter: The staff at Good Morning America is so happy about their Twitter use that they released a statement saying how they more followers than competing news programs.  ‘Cause, you know, that’s what’s most important.

SIZZLED OUT: Kanye West

STILL SIZZLING: This comedian isn’t laughing now that he watched his own brother be indicted for stealing his money.

where's Clare?!

Where's Clare?!

90210: Season 6 of the original came out on DVD and, of course, we bought our copy first thing this morning.   The first of many letdowns: there aren’t any special features, just like there weren’t for season 5.  Don’t understand that at all, especially since the ones for seasons 1-4 were pretty good.

90210 Pt. 2: Why is the cast photo on the cover incomplete?  Kathleen Robertson, a series regular, is nowhere to be seen!  Then, on the DVDs themselves, David and Val are missing and pics of Brandon and Kelly are repeated.

90210 Pt. 3 The description on the box’s back says these eps take place “outside the college campus.”  Excuse us, but we’re pretty sure CU is relevant to the entire season.  And check out this episode description: “Dylan is bored to death at his bachelor party.”  That’s the episode where his wife actually dies and Dylan leaves town.  Way to mince words and bury (or not even include!) the lede!

DWTS: The winning duo won’t be crowned til later tonight but one critic thinks the judges already made it blatantly clear who is going to win.

Brad Pitt: Has he been “pardoned” for cheating on Jen with Angie?  We think so.  But we’re so not okay with that!

Obama: A fun(ny) look at what might happen to magazines if the Obama fascination continues.

Twitter: Worth $500 million?  Facebook says no.  And as much as we like out tweets, we have to agree.  That’s a lot of money!

Facebook: Scratch that.  $500 million is pocket-change when compared to $873 million.  Facebook was just awarded that hefty sum in a lawsuit against a major spammer.  Odds are they won’t see most of the money, though.  No wonder they won’t buy Twitter!

Vanity Fair: Who cares if no one has any jobs, we’re still going to party!  That seems to be VF’s mentality

Batman: The comic book will kill off the caped crusader in a future issue.  What does this mean for the film franchise?

Did she feel fat when she filmed this iconic scene?

Did she feel fat when she filmed this iconic scene?

Obama: The presidential candidate’s grandmother died. What awful timing! Regardless of what happens tomorrow, now it is sure to be bittersweet.

Keanu Reeves: Spared from paying a paparazzo’s medical bills. A jury found the Matrix actor was not responsible for the injury.  ‘Cause, you know, a celebrity is never at fault.

Jennifer Aniston: Called Owen Wilson brave for making it through the rough year he faced. We think Jen’s the brave one for every day she lives through the age of Brangelina!

Kate Winslet: “Once a fat kid, always a fat kid,” she told Vanity Fair. What a great example she’s setting for her kids!

Carrie Underwood: Jessica Simpson feud be damned. Underwood now claims she hasn’t actually spoken to her former flame/Jess’ BF Tony Romo in months. “I would never mean to say anything to hurt anyone,” she said. Too little, too late?  (And by the way, great grammar, Carrie!)

Ashlee Simpson: First an Alice in Wonderland-themed wedding and now a Winnie the Pooh-based baby shower. Does someone have a Peter Pan complex? Let’s hope not considering she’ll have a kid of her own soon!

It's back...on Broadway?

It's back...on Broadway?

Dirty Dancing: The play–yes, there’s a play–may come to Broadway after having success elsewhere in the U.S. and abroad.  We still think no one compares to the original baby (pun fully intended).

HSM: We’re seeing High School Musical tonight!  We’re seeing High School Musical tonight!  WE’RE SEEING HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL TONIGHT!  Can you tell we’re excited?

NYT: The New York Times had quite a scare yesterday after a “suspicious substance” came in the mail.  Though the lobby was temporarily closed and some people “decontaminated,” an investigation concluded the powder was not actually hazardous.  But if it’s the media that keeps on being targeted, we’re kind of scared for our future.

Magazines: The no-brainer cover this week was the Madonna-Guy Richie divorce.  Too bad that means none of them have any originality.  But which one will sell the most?

Usher: Will be the only one to perform on this year’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.  Lucky for him?  Bad for ratings?

TV Fashion: Some critics are questioning if TV shows–particularly teen dramas–are doing us any favors by promoting expensive lifestyles that are, in reality, largely out of reach given the state of the economy.  But isn’t that part of the point of escapism? Why focus on what we don’t have when we can spend 60 minutes losing ourselves in what others do?  It can be quite fun.

Angelina: Told Vanity Fair now that she has 6 kids, she might stop making movies.  No big loss there.  Another gem from the interview: the kiddies are starting to ask why mom and dad aren’t married.  Yep, such a great example they’re setting.

Nelly: How about this for a new type of boy band: Nelly, T-Pain, Akon and Pharrell.  Nelly says it’s in the works.  We say we could do without.

Ed Norton: With rumors of a Fight Club musical, Norton brings up one important point: “Brad can’t sing.”  Ouch.

SIZZLED OUT: Ciara

STILL SIZZLING: Which actor will have two-and-a-half boys of his own soon?  His wife is having twins!
