How can you resist this?!

How can you resist this?!

Natasha Richardson: Unfortunately, official word has come.  The 45-year-old actress passed away late yesterday.  Take a moment to check out some of her best film roles.

LeAnn Rimes: If you ask US Weekly, the married Rimes is having an affair with her Lifetime miniseries married co-star, Eddie Cibrian.  Cibrian is flat-out denying it while Rimes wrote a crpytic message to fans on her official site.

Obama: Will people start to like him less if he keeps interrupting your TV programming?  Because apparently that’s the plan…

Bush: It was inevitable.  He’s writing a memoir.  It might be called “Decision Points.”  Can’t wait to see what the  REAL title will be!

Freddie Prinze Jr.: Here’s hoping the success of the superhero trend can transfer to the small screen.  Prinze signed on to play one in a new ABC show called “No Heroics.”  We’ve missed his pretty face!

SIZZLED OUT: Heath Ledger

STILL SIZZLING: This rapper/R & B star, known as well as for his ego as for his music, was charged with 3 misdemeanors yesterday following an incident with the paparazzi.

Does she look flustered to you?

American Idol: Did you hate last night’s season premiere?  Or that it even premiered at all?  AdAge feels your pain.

Arrested Development: It’s once again unclear whether the series will be made into a movie.  So sick of this back and forth!

Taylor Swift: It’s a frequent question in Hollywood–she can sing but can she act?  Swift will have a chance to prove she’s a double-threat when she guest-stars on CSI.

Bush: Why must he continue to torture us and schedule a farewell speech during primetime? Hasn’t he interrupted enough  TV programming already?

Britney: Her Twitter account was one of the unfortunate celeb ones hacked earlier this month and now someone on her staff may be paying the price.

Kate Winslet: Did you catch her Golden Globes acceptance speeches?  We thought they were endearing and adorable.  Her fellow Brits disagree…strongly.

Vannessa Hudgens: That Twilight report is now being denied.  Good!

Katy Perry: Peeved at PEOPLE and other mags for (allegedly) taking some remarks out of context.  Writes Perry on her blog: “When I wanna share something with the world, the world will know… otherwise, stop looking for a story, or an explanation.”

Ray Romano: Will star in a new TNT “dramedy” about guys going through a mid-life crisis.  Hmmm.  Wonder if this show is autobiographical, too…

Glenn Close: The latest celeb to get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.  And the best part?  We’ll be going there Friday!

Lil’ Wayne: The first story we’ve seen on who’s performing at the Grammys in February.  Can’t say we’re thrilled.

SIZZLED OUT: Wheel of Fortune

STILL SIZZLING: How will Sizzlemaker do on Wheel of Fortune?  Come back late tomorrow for a recap of the taping.  (Though this doesn’t make us feel too good.)

He will never NOT look good!

He will never NOT look good!

Michael Phelps: “Out of shape” but “having fun.” Can’t blame the guy.  That’s how we live!

Bush: Who knew throwing shoes was an insult?  We’ll have to try that sometime!

David Paterson: No idea why he was targeted on this week’s SNL.  Totally uncalled for.

The Media is Dying: One of our favorite Twitterers is getting some press play.  Love the irony.

OTH: Nooooooooo!  Why is Mark Schwahn signing on for the Melrose Place remake?  We don’t want anything to take him away from One Tree Hill!

Facebook: At Barnes and Noble yesterday, we saw a bunch of how-to books.  Still to come: a book on the social network’s founding–and possibly, a movie!

Gawker: Putting its own spin on the year-end top 10 lists with the worst pop culture bits.  Pretty dead-on except we actually liked 27 Dresses!

Chicago Tribune: Here’s a good test of journalism ethics.  The paper actually knew about the Blago stuff back in October but held off on going public to help the FBI.  That ended, obviously, this past week–too soon, if you ask the Justice Department who wanted them to keep quiet for longer.  Who was right and who was wrong?  Tough calls all around, we thinl.

SIZZLED OUT: Jesse McCartney

STILL SIZZLING: Christian Bale will have his hands full now that this movie series is moving forward.  And, no, it’s not a Dark Knight sequel!

The family that works together, stays together?

The family that works together, stays together?

EW: Rumors about it going on-line only are false, says the mag.  That makes us happy, even if we knock them every now and again.

The Dark Knight: If the DVD is flying off the shelves, why would anyone go to see it again in theaters?

Full House: Last week we heard about a remake and now it’s not happening.  Consider us  bummed.

Gossip Girl: And don’t be fooled.  This spin-off isn’t happening, either!

Twilight: New director will likely be Chris Weitz.  His previous credits include American Pie.  Just sceams family-friendly, doesn’t it?  On the flipside, he was once nominated for an Oscar.  Screams talent?  You decide.

Harry Potter: If you love the books/films so much, you might want to book a trip to Chicago.  The Museum of Science and Industry there will have a HP exhibit through September.

Will Ferrell: And if you can’t make it to New York, too, to see his show “You’re Welcome, America.  A Final Night with George W. Bush,” stay tuned to HBO which will do a live telecast in the somewhat near future.

Maggie Gyllenhaal: Mixing business with pleasure, she and babydaddy Peter Sarsgaard (what’s with the double As?) will star together in an off-Broadway show.  Let’s hope this doesn’t mean doom for the couple, for the kid’s sake at least.

YouTube: 40 inspirational speeches, all cut from movies, in 2 minutes.  Awesome.

Gawker: Unveiled a redesign late yesterday.  It’s okay.  We’re not big fans of change, though.

Cosmetic Surgery: Do you feel like women’s mags are endorsing it?  We’ve never really thought about it, so guess that’s a no for us.

McDonald’s: Trying to start an ad war with Starbucks and we kind of like it.

KB Toys: Going out of business.  So that means Toys R Us is all that’s left, right?  Good thing that was our favorite!

SIZZLED OUT: Will Smith

STILL SIZZLING: We love this whimsical writer but people seem to be bagging on him lately.  (Hint: You can use the last name to make play on the word shadenfreude!)

Want her face?

Want her face?

SNL: Why are people so surprised by the return of Amy Poehler as Hillary Clinton?  Aside from the fact that Poehler recently had a baby, we’ll probably be seeing a lot more of Clinton on the show since she accepted the media-heavy position of Secretary of State.

Twilight: The film franchise has hit its first stumbling block: Catherine Hardwicke and Summit have parted ways.  Hardwicke will not direct the sequel, and the reason allegedly goes deeper than a simple schedule conflict.

Kanye West: NOT on Twitter!

David Gregory: The worst kept secret of late is a secret no more.  NBC officially announced Gregory as the new host of Meet the Press.

Obama: Said on the aforementioned show he won’t be smoking in the White House.  So will that be the first promise he breaks?

Tribune Company: Bankruptcy is on the horizon.  You know what follows?  More lay offs. Blek.

Barbra Streisand: Forced to share face time with arch enemy President Bush as she was honored by the Kennedy Center.  Thankfully, no blood was shed.

Facebook: Beware of the Koobface virus!

PEOPLE: Redemption!  The New York Times public editor is criticizing the piece the paper ran last month bashing PEOPLE.  Turns out the NYT got some facts wrong!  Will a retraction follow?  We sure hope so.

NYT: Not sure we should trust them anymore (see above) but they’ve just released their list of the 10 best books of 2008.  We’ve read approximately none of them.

Roger Ebert: Has “had it” with years of top 10 lists.  So what did he do instead?  Made a top 20 list.

SIZZLED OUT: Angelina Jolie and Halle Berry

STILL SIZZLING: We’re turning the tables on you.  What juicy riddle do you have?  We’ll print the best one tomorrow!

You want a movie? Fuggedaboutit!

You want a movie? Fuggedaboutit!

The Simpsons: Will get the honor of a crossword puzzle in The New York Times that’s all about them. You didn’t know 4 across? D’oh!

The Sopranos: Still waiting for a movie? Don’t hold your breath. Be happy with a 33-disc DVD set instead. Yay consolation prizes!

Jason Priestley: We totally agree with you here that it wouldn’t make sense if Brandon was Kelly’s babydaddy.  But how can you say here that you guys “were never bestowed any awards”?  Perhaps you’ve forgotten your two Golden Globe nominations!  That’s right, Jason.  True 90210 fans remember everything!

Dallas: Yes, people do actually still care about this show. How much? Enough to pay $1,000 to meet the stars and then bitch after about what a disaster it was. Bizarre? Yes. But it still doesn’t top the “this was all a dream” finale.

ABC News: In an interesting journalistic choice, ABC News is taking an up-close look at its parent company’s (ABC, d’oh!) decision to “de-gay” Grey’s Anatomy.

Isaiah Washington: Should someone fired from Grey’s Anatomy for a gay scandal of his own really be talking smack about the recent “de-gay”-ing? Isaiah, do you ever learn?

Gossip Girl: That season 3 ratings boost? Gone. The show is steadily slipping. And One Tree Hill is still doing better! Score!

TRL: The series finale is starting to sound more like a reunion and we couldn’t be more excited. Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera, Nelly and lots of others will make appearances. The show doesn’t air til Sunday, but we’re getting our TiVo ready now!

Nirvana: It’s been 17 years since Nevermind was released. More memorable than the music itself? The cover art of a naked baby in a pool. Well, that boy is–you guessed it!–17 years old now and has re-created the photo.

Elizabeth Banks: Seems like she’s everywhere lately! First W, then Zack and Miri and now Role Models. Banks will try something new next: producing a sci-fi. We’re just as perplexed as you are.

Classic Movies: Chosen by TCM to be put in a DVD set according to genre. And by classic, they also mean old. Hardly any are from the past 20 years.

Twilight: Try Twilight Zone instead! A San Francisco event for the movie was canceled after thousands more fans than expected showed up. The result? Bloody chaos! Good thing we’ve managed to remain completely uninterested in all the hoopla!

Bush: Did he like his depiction in W.? Yes, surprisingly, says portrayer James Brolin.

SIZZLED OUT: Bones

STILL SIZZLING: AOL Television has started its 50 Sexiest Men and Women countdown. These two stars, best known for kicking some serious ass, got the backhanded compliment of being number 5-0 on their respective lists.
