Picture this face in the Senate!

Picture this face in the Senate!

Anne Hathaway: Would you pay $12,000 for a date with her? Some guy actually did. We don’t think any celebrity is worth that much!

Beatles: How about $200,000 to own their very first contract? Yeah, we wouldn’t spend that either.

Paula Abdul: Hasn’t slept at home since a fan committed suicide outside her house. Reasonable or ridiculous? We can’t decide.

Will Smith: Other celebs are banking on his 11-year marriage to stand the test of (Hollywood) time and, frankly, so are we. We can’t handle any more splits!

Jay Leno: Just because Conan is taking over The Tonight Show, Leno doesn’t have to go. He’ll just be on earlier.

Fran Drescher: Could the nanny also be a senator? That’s what she’s hoping for but we find it hard to believe it’ll happen. Caroline Kennedy does make a lot more sense.

Time: Compiled “The Top 10 Everything of 2008.” Definitely the best place for procrastination.

Online Media: Now eligible for the Pulitzer. Curious to see what, if anything, will be deemed worthy enough to win.

Gawker: Not that we didn’t know already that the media industry is floundering, but Gawker put together this handy-dandy chart of newspaper survival odds that just make things seem that much bleaker.

Network TV: New shows lead to cancellations which lead to more new shows. It’s a vicious cycle and it will gear up once again very soon.

Playboy: Christie Hefner (daughter of Hugh) has resigned her position as CEO of the company. Maybe she’s seen one too many naked ladies?

Holocaust: The subject of six films now out or soon to be. We believe this is a good thing, and wish others did, too.

Perez Hilton: Here’s your first look at his upcoming book. We have to warn you, though: it ain’t pretty!

The CW: We’re liking this new trailer, courtesy of Spoiler TV, for the winter season!

Polaroids: Disappearing before our very eyes!  Ah, technological evolution…

Wheel of Fortune: We’re going to be on the show! We tape in Los Angeles mid-January, though we don’t know when it’ll air. We’re sooo excited!

SIZZLED OUT: Which singer swears she’s completely sober now that she has a new album to promote? Answer: Lily Allen (Submitted by Ashley)

STILL SIZZLING: The quote of the day award goes to this comedian for for a hilarious one-liner: “This is the first time a First Lady can drop it like it’s hot!”

If Madonna's not dating him, we will!

If Madonna's not dating him, we will!

A-Rod: Just “friends” with Madonna, he says. “That’s it.” Guess we have to believe him.

O.J. Simpson: Sentenced to at least 15 years in jail for armed robbery. Long overdue, some will surely say.

Johnny Depp: Says being a celebrity is “mortifying.” We have no sympathy.

Oprah: The most powerful woman in entertainment, says The Hollywood Reporter. We’ll get on board with that.

Priviledged: Guess sweeps stunts aren’t over at The CW. They just scheduled Pete Wentz to guest star. Is there anything that guy doesn’t do?

Gossip Girl: Spin-off buzz is building again. We’ll believe when we see it.

Gossip Girl Pt. 2: Legit Facebook profiles of the cast?

Pepsi: Receiving major flack for suicide-themed ads in Germany. We’d like to meet the person that thought they would be a good idea.

Trailers: We’re not the only ones who like them more than movies themselves!

Rush & Malloy: One of the most famous gossip columns is going from daily to weekly. Another sign of the times?

Mollywood: The gossip blog is shutting down. Jossip will try to fill the void.

MySpace: When one door closes, another opens. Launching its own gossip site, DailyFill though their label won’t be anywhere on it. Beneficial?

Gawker: Has a pretty fair response to EW’s 25 Smarted People in TV list.

Newsday: Another job opportunity gone. Our hometown paper is laying off 100 staffers. Happy Friday!

Media Ink: Filled with more bad news.

Nielsen: Think they suck? Here’s your chance to tell them. Please don’t waste it!

NOT Sarah Palin!

NOT Sarah Palin!

Kevin Federline: Telling “his side” of his “life with Britney.” What timing!

90210: You can catch Jamie Walters (Ray Pruitt, whose songs were cut from the 90210 DVDs…tear!) on VH1’s new “celebreality” show Confessions of a Teen Idol. But will he perform??

Tori Spelling: The 90210 alum has apparently changed the release date of her second book to coincide with debut of her mom’s memoir. We love it!

Tina Fey: Being “sexed up” by the media, claims Salon. Won’t hurt her one bit, we think.

Gawker: We’re not even going to be able to get jobs at our back-up sites! We need a Plan C stat!

Denis Leary: Says 9/11 conspiracy theories will get some serious play on the new season of Rescue Me. The topic is both fascinating and sensitive. We can’t wait to see how it unfolds!

Tyra Banks: Humble enough to say she’s not a media mogul but not so humble to say she won’t be one some day. How admirable.

Guns N Roses: So the free Dr. Pepper didn’t work out so well, and, man, are they pissed!

Michael Phelps: Sports Illustrated’s Sportsman of the Year. Thank you, Captain Obvious!

Sean Avery: Trash-talking will get you suspended. Just ask Sean: he called out a rival hockey player for dating his ex, actress Elisha Cuthbert, and now he’s out indefinitely!

Ethan Hawke: Along with other celebs like Ashley Judd, he designed his very own box of condoms to be auctioned off for charity. Beyond weird.

SIZZLED OUT: Katy Perry

STILL SIZZLING: This new Broadway show has barely started and its already offering tickets at 40 percent off! On the bright side, the previews generated more than $1 million! Maybe it’ll live happier ever after afterall!

Remember this face?

Remember this face?

Speidi: If you believe Perez, the couple eloped over the weekend.  Waiting for a more legitimate source to confirm.  (Even PEOPLE doesn’t know for sure!)

Miley Cyrus: Celebrated her Sweet 16 for real yesterday, months after a birthday bash that shut down Disneyland.

Britney: There’s a beyond-cheesy commercial airing to promote her birthday (aka promotional stunt) performance on Good Morning America that’s still more than a week away.

1999: As the new year approaches, MTV has created a 10-year class reunion of sorts, with a look back at names as forgotten as Orgy and Lou Bega and as still-relevant as Kid Rock and Jessica Simpson.

OTH: Two episodes tonight, though one is a repeat.  Still, we’ll gladly take it!

The Bachelor: Why would a father go on a notoriously unsuccessful matchmaking show when he has a son to think about?  The relationships never work out, so why introduce a woman into your kid’s life who probably won’t be there permanently?  Guess we’ll find out when the new season begins in early January.

Michael Phelps: Has a new endorsement deal with Subway.  Doesn’t really seem like the food of an Olympian.

Gawker: Turns out that article on celebrity couples was plagarized…by the original author himself.  We’re confused, too.

Hannity and Colmes: Will be just Hannity when the new year starts.  No word yet if there will be a new sparring partner.

Network TV: One area of the economy the government won’t step in to save, though it really needs it.

USA Today: Also making lay-offs, but a smaller amount than this time last year so we guess this is good news?

Hey baby! Rock steady!

24: Friendly reminder that the 2-hour prequel airs tonight on Fox.

Lost: TV Guide says there’s a subliminal message in the trailer for the upcoming season.  Anyone figure out what it means?

Michelle Williams: In an interview with Newsweek, the actress says how she struggled–and still does–in the months since Heath’s death.  The article is heartbreaking.

Josh Schwartz: Says he hopes Gossip Girl will be in its 22nd season in 20 years, then says he’s kidding.  Somehow, we don’t think he is.

SAG: An actor’s strike is looming.  There will be tears.

No Doubt: After a baby-making and solo-project filled hiatus, the band is getting back together for a summer tour.  Hella good!

Twilight: Having such a great opening weekend, the next installment just got the green light.  We’re pretty sure we won’t see that one, either.

Gawker: A fun look at the celebrity couples that “boggle the mind and tug at the heart.”

Seinfeld: The show lives!

SIZZLED OUT: Anna Wintour (Vogue)

STILL SIZZLING: Which celebrity had this to say about her upcoming film: “I wish it was ‘She’s Just Not That Into You’! Unfortunately, it’s ‘He’s Just Not That Into You.’ The other would be more empowering.”  Considering her love life lately, this attitude comes as no surprise.

Soon this all will be just a bad dream!

Soon this all will be just a bad dream!

Paris Hilton: At first “sources” were saying that she and Benji Madden are no longer together but we weren’t sure whether to believe it.  They made huge declarations of their love as recently as last month.  Turns out, the Associated Press got official confirmation from Hilton’s publicist.  You win some, you lose some…

Miley Cyrus: Wants to be on a reality television show beacause they’re “crazy” and it would be cool “to be in a really nice house with cameras following me around.”  Lucky for her, MTV is casting for season 22 of The Real World.  Be careful what you wish for, Miley!

Rob Lowe: Chinese delegates, in California to discuss global warming with the governator, got the pleasure of witnessing Lowe film a scene for Brothers & Sisters.  Lowe even got them directors’ chairs and headsets.  What an inefficient use of time!

Gawker: Categorizes the 4 different ways magazines have been killed lately.  Funny and sad at the same time.

OK! Magazine: They’re practically the only mag out there hiring.  Too bad we don’t want to work for them!  (Yes, we know one day we will regret saying that!)

Jossip: The aforementioned regret has already begun.  Internships at some pretty desirable mags are now for sale, as in YOU PAY TO DO THEM.  This truly is a “New America.” One in which we stay in bed under the covers all day.

Soap Opera Digest: You know times are bad when a publication starts asking for “volunteer writers.”   At least they’re not auctioning the spots off to the highest bidder!

24: The two-hour telepic, airing Sunday, is a “dry-run” for a full-length feature in theaters.  Ratings and DVD sales will be the deciding factors.

Blink-182: Mark Hoppus admits to talking a lot lately with former bandmates Travis Barker and Tom DeLonge.  The best news: a music reunion, though not yet discussed, isn’t totally out of the question!

Beauty & the Geek: May have a second life on MTV, with D-list celebs participating as the beauties.  Hard to believe Ashton Kutcher is involved with this crap.

AR2: What if there was a second American Revolution?  That question is the subject of a new series in the works at FX.  The “incendiary” plot will revolve around college students who stage a revolt and try to re-define the meaning of patriotism.

Judd Apatow: His next movie won’t be out til next summer at the earliest and it’s already getting press play.  We’re not surprised considering, a, his track record and, b, the stars lined up (Adam Sandler, Jonah Hill, Seth Rogen, Jason Schwartzman and wife Leslie Mann).

SIZZLED OUT: Josh Schwartz

STILL SIZZLING: This actress spent an hour in the hospital after getting sick on a plane.  Realizing the best days of our career were behind us would make us sick, too.

Sucking the blood out of EW

Sucking the blood out of EW

James Bond: In honor of the release of Quantum of Solace (how many times can YOU put ‘of’ in a sentence?), take a stroll down memory lane by revisiting Bond’s sexual puns and theme songs.

Reality TV: What’s the difference between ‘reality’ and ‘unscripted’ television?  This article attempts to explain it but we’re still not sure we understand.

Desperate Housewives: The rumor of the day is that Sarah Palin will appear on Wisteria Lane.  Says the show’s creator: “There is no way!”  Whew.  Close one.

EW: As expected, the ax came down today on some unlucky staffers at Entertainment Weekly.  We’ve become numb by this point.

Gawker: Kudos to them for taking a swipe at the ridiculous hysteria surrounding Twilight and, yes, EW’s absurd obsession with the series.

PEOPLE: And while, yes, we are numb, this did make us cry a little.

Joe Scarborough: His morning show on MSNBC will now have a 7-second delay.  That’s what happens when you drop the F-bomb!

OTH: We could not be more excited for One Tree Hill’s 1940s-themed episode next week and we are so glad its getting the media attention it deserves!

AP: The people at Associated Press have too much time on their hands.  (Then again, so do we.)  They’ve decided with a new election, comes new style changes.

Prison Break: It’s almost a sure thing this season will be the last.  Fox just commissioned two more episodes–likely to serve as some sort of wrap-up.

Jodie Sweetin: The Full House star may have spilled to PEOPLE all about her meth addiction but apparently, there’s lots more to share.  Like a whole book’s worth.  Stephanie Tanner is writing a memoir!

Obama: Time’s Person of the Year.  Not like we didn’t see that coming.

SIZZLED OUT: Live! With Regis and Kelly

STILL SIZZLING: The Parents Television Council says these two shows–one animated, one not–are the worst and best for kids, respectively.
