Is he the next American Idol?

Is he the next American Idol?

American Idol: He hasn’t even won–yet–and already Adam Lambert has his first solo magazine cover story.  Entertainment Weekly gave him the honor, apparently in part because of his ambiguous sexuality.

American Idol Pt. 2: Did you know this is the first time the final 3 contestants were all male?  We had no idea!

Paula Abdul: This is probably the first time we’ve ever seen Ladies Home Journal accused of fabrication but the Idol judge is doing it and doing it strongly.  Just days after the magazine released a cover story where Abdul admits to a past drug addiction, the singer is claiming she never said–or had–any such thing.  Well, someone’s lying…

Susan Boyle: You know you’ve really made it big when you appear on Oprah.  And Boyle will do just that…sort of.  She’ll appear via Oprah’s favorite new thing, Skype.

Prison Break: With only a week left til the series finale, Fox’s latest promo product left critics stumped: a bar of soap.  But The Advocate and GLAAD think they’ve figured out the insinuation–prison rape–and they’re not happy about it.

ABC: Debuted its new “music lounge” yesterday, a radio-like offering with songs that are heard on shows like Grey’s Anatomy. Sounds like a smaller version of iTunes to us.

SIZZLED OUT: A-Rod: The Many Lives of Alex Rodriguez by Serena Roberts

STILL SIZZLING: This R & B singer is just the latest celebrity to have nude photos hit the web–but while she calls the act of stealing private things “evil,” she says she’s not bothered by the exposure.

When healthy enough, Adam Cook traveled to see his younger brother perform on the Idol stage.

When healthy enough, Adam Cook traveled to see his younger brother perform on the Idol stage.

David Cook: Less than a month after announcing he’d participate in a charity run on his ill brother’s behalf, Cook made another announcement yesterday: his brother passed away after a 10-year battle with brain cancer.  Too sad for words.

TIME: Entertainment figures ranging from Tina Fey to Zac Efron made TIME’s annual list of the 100 most influential people.  Also included: the ladies of The View and Jay Leno.

Jay-Z: According to MTV, the rapper is pleased a recent show demonstrated “racial unity” since it was a joint bill with him, Kelly Clarkson and Third Eye Blind.  We’re pretty sure, though, if he wants it to have an impact, a show like that is going to have to happen more than once…

Robert DeNiro: Did you know his twin sons were born via surrogate?  Quickly learning that lots of celebs have gone that route and SJP is far from first.

SIZZLED OUT: Paula Abdul

STILL SIZZLING: This animated series could make it to the big screen–if anyone finds the time to do it.  Let’s hope it’s not canceled (again) in the meantime!

We know we're not one to talk, but obsessions are NOT HEALTHY, people!

We know we're not one to talk but obsessions are NOT HEALTHY, people!

John Mayer: Jennifer Aniston sent some praise his way, and now he’s doing the same for her.  He told PEOPLE: “It’s really nice to have somebody in life have your back.  That girl knows me … so whether I go to bed alone or not, to have somebody who knows you in this world, that’s a really nice thing.”  Sweet or gag-inducing?

Paula Abdul: More disturbing information is being released about the shocking death outside the Idol’s home.  All it really shows: too little action taken too late.

Joe Jonas: After several weeks of bad press thanks to ex Taylor Swift, the middle Jo Bro used his MySpace to set the record straight.  This is getting a little too Degrassi for our liking.

Hollywood: Cutting back on the holiday party extravagance and we don’t feel bad one bit.

The View: For the very first time the show is number 1 in the daytime ratings but now that the election’s over we doubt’ll last.

Changeling: We still haven’t seen this movie, and though this article kind of spoils it, we’re even more fascinated now that the real-life mystery has been solved.

Hilary Duff: The former Lizzie McGuire signed a deal with NBC to develop and star in a new TV show.  No news yet if it’ll be part-cartoon.

Obama: The first sit-down is coming and it’s with 60 Minutes.  Expect it to air as soon as this Sunday.

Lip-Syncing: Don’t try it in China.  Soon it’ll be against the law!

Wall-E: When the hit comes out on DVD next week, there’ll be a short film starring Burn-E.  Yeah, we don’t remember him either.

Michael Moore: The filmmaker was originally planning a sequel to his Fahrenheit 9/11 but instead will focus on the economy.  New times, new problems, more movies.

Justin Timberlake: Called New York City the “realest in the world.”  Is realest even a word?!  And what makes NYC any more real than the thousands of others?
