One of the best songs ever. Try to convince us otherwise!

One of the best songs ever. Try to convince us otherwise!

90210: If we dislike the new show show so much, how come we get chills every time we see a promo for its January return?

The CW: Notoriously shut out from awards, just like its predecessor The WB.  So Kristin over at E! Online is holding her own CW-only awards.  Pretty cute.

TV Guide: We don’t get this AT ALL.  TV Guide the magazine and TVGuide.com the web site are now owned by different companies.  So one of our favorite writers, Matt Roush, will no longer be on the site.  WTF?

Eminem: Denying reports that his new album will include a follow-up to one of our favorite songs, Stan.

Tara Reid: Checked into rehab but no word on what she’s there for.

Tommy Hilfiger: Reportedly got married last night.  Most interesting to us: he gave his fiance an 8.2 carat engagement ring!  So how sparkly is the wedding band?!

American Idol: If they cancel their hugeeeeeee charity event, Idol Gives Back, will they lose credibility?  Or will people understand given the economy?

Economy: Who has a clever name for the current recession/depression/doomsday?  The New York Times are looking for it!

Gawker: Can now comment on their blog through your Facebook accounts.  Kudos actually goes to FB, we think.

Rod Blagojevich: Deleted his Facebook account after his arrest–but not before getting slammed with insults from other users.

Rod Balgojevich Pt. 2: The Chicago Tribune has a pretty funny animation based on the governor’s profanity-laded conversations.

John Ritter: Got a really good tribute on last night’s Family Entertainment Awards, 5 years after his death.

SIZZLED OUT: Jonathan Safran Foer (schadenfoer!)

STILL SIZZLING: This musician says he wants to follow in Justin Timberlake’s footsteps.  With his own hit song last summer and writing a hit for another new star, we don’t think he’ll have any problem finding more success.

#1 album in the country!

#1 album in the country!

Mark Ruffalo: So yesterday we said the suspect was in custody.  She’s since been released now that there’s evidence pointing to suicide!

Britney: New album topped the charts.  Comeback complete or just beginning?

Tom Cruise: This week’s PEOPLE cover story.  Finally, a TomKat feature by a reputable magazine!

Brad Pitt: Says, predictably, that he and Angie weren’t too happy about last month’s NYT piece that called her manipulative. “[They’re] talking about not only the woman I love, but one of the people on this planet who I have the greatest respect for.”  Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Pete Wentz: Named Travis McCoy (of Gym Class Heroes) godfather of Bronx Mowgli.  Why not Pete Stump or one of the other Fall Out Boy bandmates?  (Sidenote:  now McCoy says he and GF Katy Perry have baby fever!)

Ricky Martin: Releasing photos of his twins, born via surrogate.  No romantic details, though, which is obviously what people really want.  The photos, though, apparently are good enough for the cover of PEOPLE En Espanol.

Fantasia: The economy is affecting (wannabe) stars, too.  The Idol winner has to auction her home.  This comes after needing a loan to pay her taxes.

Rolling Stone: Doing layoffs but still making lists.  TV on the Radio put out the album of the year and Beyonce’s Single Ladies is the top single.

Yahoo: To add insult to injury, the script used to tell thousands they lost their job today has leaked to the ‘net.  Bet that makes them feel reallllll good.  Also, it’s worth taking a look at Yahoo’s history.

Picture this face in the Senate!

Picture this face in the Senate!

Anne Hathaway: Would you pay $12,000 for a date with her? Some guy actually did. We don’t think any celebrity is worth that much!

Beatles: How about $200,000 to own their very first contract? Yeah, we wouldn’t spend that either.

Paula Abdul: Hasn’t slept at home since a fan committed suicide outside her house. Reasonable or ridiculous? We can’t decide.

Will Smith: Other celebs are banking on his 11-year marriage to stand the test of (Hollywood) time and, frankly, so are we. We can’t handle any more splits!

Jay Leno: Just because Conan is taking over The Tonight Show, Leno doesn’t have to go. He’ll just be on earlier.

Fran Drescher: Could the nanny also be a senator? That’s what she’s hoping for but we find it hard to believe it’ll happen. Caroline Kennedy does make a lot more sense.

Time: Compiled “The Top 10 Everything of 2008.” Definitely the best place for procrastination.

Online Media: Now eligible for the Pulitzer. Curious to see what, if anything, will be deemed worthy enough to win.

Gawker: Not that we didn’t know already that the media industry is floundering, but Gawker put together this handy-dandy chart of newspaper survival odds that just make things seem that much bleaker.

Network TV: New shows lead to cancellations which lead to more new shows. It’s a vicious cycle and it will gear up once again very soon.

Playboy: Christie Hefner (daughter of Hugh) has resigned her position as CEO of the company. Maybe she’s seen one too many naked ladies?

Holocaust: The subject of six films now out or soon to be. We believe this is a good thing, and wish others did, too.

Perez Hilton: Here’s your first look at his upcoming book. We have to warn you, though: it ain’t pretty!

The CW: We’re liking this new trailer, courtesy of Spoiler TV, for the winter season!

Polaroids: Disappearing before our very eyes!  Ah, technological evolution…

Wheel of Fortune: We’re going to be on the show! We tape in Los Angeles mid-January, though we don’t know when it’ll air. We’re sooo excited!

SIZZLED OUT: Which singer swears she’s completely sober now that she has a new album to promote? Answer: Lily Allen (Submitted by Ashley)

STILL SIZZLING: The quote of the day award goes to this comedian for for a hilarious one-liner: “This is the first time a First Lady can drop it like it’s hot!”

Oh, how we've missed you! (And, oh, how we're still waiting for Everwood on DVD!)

Oh, how we've missed you! (And, oh, how we're still hoping for more Everwood DVDs!)

Jennifer Hudson: Her former brother-in-law has officially been arrested–but not charged–in the deaths of her mother, brother and nephew. One step closer to justice?

Britney: The most searched term on Yahoo…for the seventh time!

Gossip Girl: Was anyone surprised by last night’s ending? We think not.

Grammys: Nominations revealed tomorrow, museum opens on Saturday. Big week!

News Media: To blame for Black Friday mania and the Mumbai attacks?

CNN: Practically the only news organization making a profit these days–and stepping up their game even more by unveiling a wire service meant to compete with the AP.

Gregory Smith: Finally coming back to television and it’s on a pretty much-canceled show? Well, that’s just great.

American Idol: Promos for season 8 have hit the ‘net and we are LOVING the David Cook one.

Obama: Even with him as a role model, creating strong black characters on television will remain a challenge. Guess progress really does take baby steps.

The Real World: The first episode of the new Brooklyn season has been released to the media. The question: does anyone care anymore? This is, after all, season 21!

Time: Now the magazine of choice for college students, in place of Cosmopolitan. Also a preference of the past: Perez Hilton.com. Hallelujah!

SIZZLED OUT: Michael Phelps

STILL SIZZLING: Which singer featured her own parents as wedding guests in her new video?

We know we're not one to talk, but obsessions are NOT HEALTHY, people!

We know we're not one to talk but obsessions are NOT HEALTHY, people!

John Mayer: Jennifer Aniston sent some praise his way, and now he’s doing the same for her.  He told PEOPLE: “It’s really nice to have somebody in life have your back.  That girl knows me … so whether I go to bed alone or not, to have somebody who knows you in this world, that’s a really nice thing.”  Sweet or gag-inducing?

Paula Abdul: More disturbing information is being released about the shocking death outside the Idol’s home.  All it really shows: too little action taken too late.

Joe Jonas: After several weeks of bad press thanks to ex Taylor Swift, the middle Jo Bro used his MySpace to set the record straight.  This is getting a little too Degrassi for our liking.

Hollywood: Cutting back on the holiday party extravagance and we don’t feel bad one bit.

The View: For the very first time the show is number 1 in the daytime ratings but now that the election’s over we doubt’ll last.

Changeling: We still haven’t seen this movie, and though this article kind of spoils it, we’re even more fascinated now that the real-life mystery has been solved.

Hilary Duff: The former Lizzie McGuire signed a deal with NBC to develop and star in a new TV show.  No news yet if it’ll be part-cartoon.

Obama: The first sit-down is coming and it’s with 60 Minutes.  Expect it to air as soon as this Sunday.

Lip-Syncing: Don’t try it in China.  Soon it’ll be against the law!

Wall-E: When the hit comes out on DVD next week, there’ll be a short film starring Burn-E.  Yeah, we don’t remember him either.

Michael Moore: The filmmaker was originally planning a sequel to his Fahrenheit 9/11 but instead will focus on the economy.  New times, new problems, more movies.

Justin Timberlake: Called New York City the “realest in the world.”  Is realest even a word?!  And what makes NYC any more real than the thousands of others?

Can history PLEASE repeat itself?

Can history PLEASE repeat itself?

SATC: Sarah Jessica Parker is clarifying co-star Kim Cattrall’s announcement yesterday of a Sex and the City sequel.  “All the deals are not done yet,” SJP says.  We’ve never thought of Carrie as a party pooper before but we might have to reassess that view.

Britney: How’s this for a letdown: Brit Brit did appear on-stage with Madonna.  Just not at the same time as Justin.  Disappointing but we remain hopeful for a future reunion.

OTH: We are RUNNING to get the new issue of Entertainment Weekly, which features a multi-page article on One Tree Hill!  Did you know OTH gets better ratings that Gossip Girl?  Damn straight, it does!

American Idol: The new season starts January 13.  Let the countdown begin!

Grey’s Anatomy: The show needs some positive buzz right about now and this might get it for them: they’re planning a February cross-over with Private Practice.   These are usually quite cheesy, though, so we’re curious to see how it’s gonna work.

Chicago Tribune: The official election may be over but the rumor of it isn’t.  The Trib has come up with joke covers showcasing different results.  Pretty funny.

NYT: The Times are taking some steps into the future: first with their own social network, and also with Times Extra, which will link to rival publications.  Which papers will follow suit?

SIZZLED OUT: The Simpsons

STILL SIZZLING: This old fellow is giving one of his many ex-girlfriends away to be married…a mere few weeks after they split!

Rockin' out and looking pretty while doing it!

Rockin' out and looking pretty while doing it!

David Cook: Our favorite Idol EVER will be performing on SNL tomorrow night.  Meeting him last spring will forever rank as one of our all-time best days.

John McCain: Stealing Cook’s thunder and also appearing on SNL.  Psht.

Shanna Moakler: Travis Barker’s ex has given her first interview since finding out about his plane crash.  Last time she spoke, though, Travis said not to believe her.  So what will it be this time?  Fact or fiction?

Melrose Place: Despite persistent rumors, if the remake happens, it probably won’t be aided by current mega-creators Mark Schwahn (One Tree Hill) and Josh Schwartz (The O.C., Gossip Girl).  And thank god.  We want a seventh season of OTH, not a rehashing of a show that wasn’t very good to begin with.

Spider-Man 4: The flick, set to be released in 2011, has found itself a writer.  A Pulitizer award-winning, Julliard-trained one at that.  But we have to wonder: why are movies from the same series being written by different people?  What ever happened to consistency?

Newsday: Our hometown newspaper appears to be the latest victim of the revived Anthrax hoax.  Really, people, this is SO not funny.

Hugh Hefner: In a new biography–aptly titled Mr. Playboy–the media mogul’s life is given the up-close-and-personal treatment.  Silly us, we thought that’s been done before.  Many, many times before.

Our chances of working for one of these mags are disappearing by the day.

Our chances of working for one of these mags are disappearing by the day. Sigh.

Tina Fey: Is Bristol Palin her newest babysitter?  The offer has been made by Mrs. Palin.  Fey’s response: “I was like, yeah, that’s exactly what 17-year-old Bristol Palin wants to do, at ‘SNL,’ is babysit the toddler of the lady that goofs on her mom.”  We’re just wondering if Bristol will even want to babysit her own toddler.

Redemption Song: American Idol for boozies, strippers and cons.  We kid you not.  Gotta love Fuse.

Obama: Pundits across America are weighing in on last night’s last-ditch effort by Obama to secure American’s vote.  But what about all the people that already voted through absemtee and early ballots?  Lost causes?

Phillies: MLB champs.  Notice how we didn’t say World Series champs.  Semantics, really, but how can you win a world championship when the whole world doesn’t have the opportunity to play?  The MLB is only in America, folks!

Jennifer Hudson: As expected, all the entertainment/gossip mags have Hudson-focused covers.  Curious to see how they sell and which one does the best.

Time Inc.: Laying off up to 600 staffers in the coming weeks.  Now how will we ever get a job there?!

TiVo: Got TiVo?  Now you got Netflix, too.  The two have married.  Applause all around.  Except for us.  We still don’t have TiVo.  Or Netflix.

SIZZLED OUT: Melrose Place

STILL SIZZLING: Which actor has walked the line for the final time?  He’s retiring at age 34!

Silent Bob isn't staying silent anymore.

Silent Bob isn't staying silent anymore.

Sean Penn: Visiting Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez for the second time in two years.  Does a star’s political activities influence whether people pay to see his movies?  We’ll soon find out: his next flick, Milk, comes out in early December.

Brothers & Sisters: After a high-profile search for new character Ryan Walker, the execs have chosen someone with very little credits to his name: Luke Grimes.  We have no idea who he is but a quick Google search shows a 20-something guy with long-ish hair and some stubble.  Is this the next television heartthrob in the making?

Jennifer Hudson: Now that The Secret Life of Bees is in theater, we’ll see if the Idol alum can have 3 great flicks in a row.  And if not, there’s always that music career.

Survivor: Arguably the most successful show of the decade but the flame might extinguish soon.  Ratings are down, the economy sucks and ad execs are being more frugal with their money.  Good times.

Ne-Yo: Plans to star in a “music-driven romance” called Venice Beach.  Can being smooth and infectious in music translate to the big screen?  We’re doubtful.

Kevin Smith: Took to his blog to say how excited he is for Zack and Miri Make a Porno–and that he’s “really fat right now” and plans to lose a ton of weight after press for the movie is done.  Doesn’t he realize his size is one of the things that makes him so endearing and identifiable?

Phil Spector: He faces trial number two for allegedly killing actress Lana Clarkson.  The first trial, which ended in deadlock, lasted 5 months.  Can’t believe he–or Clarkson’s family–have to go through all that again!

Oprah: Available in Spanish for the first time in 22 seasons.  What took so long?!
