Look familiar? You just saw it reimagined (aka poorly copied) on last night's OTH!

Look familiar? You just saw it reimagined (aka poorly copied) on last night's OTH.

Gossip Girl: Last night’s ep was the second with Wallace Shawn, known to most of us as the teacher from Clueless.  He seems out of place, but then again, that is precisely the point.

Gossip Girl Pt. 2: Nate turned his father in to the Feds.  How original.  Oh wait.  Dawson’s Creek did that back in 19-freakin-99!

One Tree Hill: Speaking of biting off of a original (and arguably better) teen drama, did Chad Michael Murray seriously pen a scene that was a direct copy of Toni’s death in Dylan’s arms (in the rain, no less!) on 90210?  And that was from 1996, people!  We don’t care what they say: imitation is NOT the sincerest form of flattery!

Obama: Gave 60 Minutes its best ratings in 9 years.  So when will the attraction begin to fade?

Obama Pt. 2: Newsweek is predicting a baby boom directly tied to Obama’s win.  Everyone gettin’ busy on election night?  Stranger things have happened.

Stephen Colbert: You know you’re big when D.C.’s elite gets together to roast you.  Will Obama be next?

TRL: This pays better tribute to the finale than we ever could.

TV Guide: Also making staff cuts.  We. Give. Up.

Scarlett Johansson: Apparently she was Katy Perry’s inspiration for I Kissed a Girl.  Are we the only ones that don’t find her (or her lips) attractive??

Viewer Habits: Unhappy?  Likely you watch more TV.  No shame in that!

Rosie O’Donnell: Her variety show is fast approaching and we’re totally psyched!

House: Will Thirteen die?  That’s what E!Online is suggesting…

Heather Locklear: Officially charged with DUI–a misdemeanor.  No word yet on the possible reprecussions if found guilty.

Cloris Leachman: We told you that an 82-year-old on DWTS wasn’t a good thing!  The former contestant was in the hospital recently for a “bad cold.”  Is that what they’re calling it these days?

SIZZLED OUT: Ashlee Simpson

STILL SIZZLING: This tough guy is accused of pulling a  Martha!  Or so the government says.  The former DWTS contestant–and current owner of the Dallas Mavericks–has been charged with insider trading.  He plans to let justice “do its job,” whatever that means.

You want a movie? Fuggedaboutit!

You want a movie? Fuggedaboutit!

The Simpsons: Will get the honor of a crossword puzzle in The New York Times that’s all about them. You didn’t know 4 across? D’oh!

The Sopranos: Still waiting for a movie? Don’t hold your breath. Be happy with a 33-disc DVD set instead. Yay consolation prizes!

Jason Priestley: We totally agree with you here that it wouldn’t make sense if Brandon was Kelly’s babydaddy.  But how can you say here that you guys “were never bestowed any awards”?  Perhaps you’ve forgotten your two Golden Globe nominations!  That’s right, Jason.  True 90210 fans remember everything!

Dallas: Yes, people do actually still care about this show. How much? Enough to pay $1,000 to meet the stars and then bitch after about what a disaster it was. Bizarre? Yes. But it still doesn’t top the “this was all a dream” finale.

ABC News: In an interesting journalistic choice, ABC News is taking an up-close look at its parent company’s (ABC, d’oh!) decision to “de-gay” Grey’s Anatomy.

Isaiah Washington: Should someone fired from Grey’s Anatomy for a gay scandal of his own really be talking smack about the recent “de-gay”-ing? Isaiah, do you ever learn?

Gossip Girl: That season 3 ratings boost? Gone. The show is steadily slipping. And One Tree Hill is still doing better! Score!

TRL: The series finale is starting to sound more like a reunion and we couldn’t be more excited. Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera, Nelly and lots of others will make appearances. The show doesn’t air til Sunday, but we’re getting our TiVo ready now!

Nirvana: It’s been 17 years since Nevermind was released. More memorable than the music itself? The cover art of a naked baby in a pool. Well, that boy is–you guessed it!–17 years old now and has re-created the photo.

Elizabeth Banks: Seems like she’s everywhere lately! First W, then Zack and Miri and now Role Models. Banks will try something new next: producing a sci-fi. We’re just as perplexed as you are.

Classic Movies: Chosen by TCM to be put in a DVD set according to genre. And by classic, they also mean old. Hardly any are from the past 20 years.

Twilight: Try Twilight Zone instead! A San Francisco event for the movie was canceled after thousands more fans than expected showed up. The result? Bloody chaos! Good thing we’ve managed to remain completely uninterested in all the hoopla!

Bush: Did he like his depiction in W.? Yes, surprisingly, says portrayer James Brolin.

SIZZLED OUT: Bones

STILL SIZZLING: AOL Television has started its 50 Sexiest Men and Women countdown. These two stars, best known for kicking some serious ass, got the backhanded compliment of being number 5-0 on their respective lists.

I'm addicted to gossip blogs!

I'm man enough to admit this: I'm addicted to gossip blogs!

The CW: We guess they’re going for a guest star bonanza: last night, Cyndi Lauper popped up on Gossip Girl and tonight’s Privileged promises an appearance from Perez  Hilton.

Speidi: How I Met Your Mother officially jumped the shark.  Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt are guest-starring.  Like these two need any more television exposure!

Lost: Can a very complicated show become simpler thanks to musical recaps?  You decide.

50 Cent: Namedrops…blogs?  Yep.  Perez, Gawker and more.  At least he has fairly decent taste.

Keith Olbermann: Can you cover an election and not actually vote?  Yes, says Mr. MSNBC.

PEOPLE: The staff cuts have begun.  There goes our future. We feel like crying.

SIZZLED OUT: Ben Still and Chris Rock

STILL SIZZLING: The set of this investigative series went ablaze last week.  No injuries, thankfully, and maybe they’ll get a new plotline out of it!

Britney and a healthy Jayden

Britney and a healthy Jayden

Britney: While on that first family trip, tragedy almost struck.  Son Jayden, 2, spent the night in the hospital after suffering an allergic reaction.  He’s “fine” now.

Jennifer Hudson: Though he still hasn’t been charged with any crimes, Hudson’s brother-in-law will remain in jail on a parole violation.  His girlfriend told cops he told her he was involved in the murders.

Gossip Girl: They say the show is like a chess game.  And their inspiration?  You can thank William Shakespeare for that.  What either of these things have in common with GG we’re still not sure.

Jennie Garth: In a preview story for tomorrow’s episode of 90210, Garth tells the New York Post that Kelly’s trip with Dylan didn’t go so well and now she’s ready to start a life without him.  Can’t they do anything to make original viewers happy?  Garth cites her loyalty to longtime fans but this certainly isn’t showing it.

Oprah: Launching an on-line store.  Will she be giving away cars with that?

PEOPLE: Marking its 35th anniverary and the 35th People’s Choice Awards with a new category: hottest star under 35.  And we thought they said age was nothing but a number…

Can history PLEASE repeat itself?

Can history PLEASE repeat itself?

SATC: Sarah Jessica Parker is clarifying co-star Kim Cattrall’s announcement yesterday of a Sex and the City sequel.  “All the deals are not done yet,” SJP says.  We’ve never thought of Carrie as a party pooper before but we might have to reassess that view.

Britney: How’s this for a letdown: Brit Brit did appear on-stage with Madonna.  Just not at the same time as Justin.  Disappointing but we remain hopeful for a future reunion.

OTH: We are RUNNING to get the new issue of Entertainment Weekly, which features a multi-page article on One Tree Hill!  Did you know OTH gets better ratings that Gossip Girl?  Damn straight, it does!

American Idol: The new season starts January 13.  Let the countdown begin!

Grey’s Anatomy: The show needs some positive buzz right about now and this might get it for them: they’re planning a February cross-over with Private Practice.   These are usually quite cheesy, though, so we’re curious to see how it’s gonna work.

Chicago Tribune: The official election may be over but the rumor of it isn’t.  The Trib has come up with joke covers showcasing different results.  Pretty funny.

NYT: The Times are taking some steps into the future: first with their own social network, and also with Times Extra, which will link to rival publications.  Which papers will follow suit?

SIZZLED OUT: The Simpsons

STILL SIZZLING: This old fellow is giving one of his many ex-girlfriends away to be married…a mere few weeks after they split!

Rockin' out and looking pretty while doing it!

Rockin' out and looking pretty while doing it!

David Cook: Our favorite Idol EVER will be performing on SNL tomorrow night.  Meeting him last spring will forever rank as one of our all-time best days.

John McCain: Stealing Cook’s thunder and also appearing on SNL.  Psht.

Shanna Moakler: Travis Barker’s ex has given her first interview since finding out about his plane crash.  Last time she spoke, though, Travis said not to believe her.  So what will it be this time?  Fact or fiction?

Melrose Place: Despite persistent rumors, if the remake happens, it probably won’t be aided by current mega-creators Mark Schwahn (One Tree Hill) and Josh Schwartz (The O.C., Gossip Girl).  And thank god.  We want a seventh season of OTH, not a rehashing of a show that wasn’t very good to begin with.

Spider-Man 4: The flick, set to be released in 2011, has found itself a writer.  A Pulitizer award-winning, Julliard-trained one at that.  But we have to wonder: why are movies from the same series being written by different people?  What ever happened to consistency?

Newsday: Our hometown newspaper appears to be the latest victim of the revived Anthrax hoax.  Really, people, this is SO not funny.

Hugh Hefner: In a new biography–aptly titled Mr. Playboy–the media mogul’s life is given the up-close-and-personal treatment.  Silly us, we thought that’s been done before.  Many, many times before.

Harry. Prince Harry.

Harry. Prince Harry.

DWTS: Julianne Hough has a bedfellow in dancer Lacey Schwimmer.  Following Hough’s diagnosis of endometriosis, Schwimmer found out she has it, too.  Is there something in the water there?!

OTH: CW has added more episodes to this season!  Score!  More coming to Gossip Girl and 90210, as well.  We guess that’s good, too.

Selena Gomez: Move over, Nick Jonas.  Tweener Selena already has her eyes set on someone else: Shia LaBeouf.  Join the club, Selena.

Prince Harry: The royal heir better watch out. At the Quantum of Solace premiere, he made the mistake of saying Sean Connery was his favorite Bond, rather than current star Daniel Craig.  Smooth move, prince.

Beatles: The iconic quartet will have a videogame of their own in the not-so-near future.  It’s being made by the creators of Rock Band but no word yet on what exactly the game will be.

MSNBC: Took the brunt of the beating at a recent luncheon conference on Hollywood and the media.  Why is everyone so alarmed by the network’s “lopsided” coverage?  Have they seen Fox News?!

Addams Family: Coming to a theater near you. If you live in Chicago.  Or New York.  But what are the Addams doing on a stage, any way?  They’re creepy and they’re kooky, mysterious and spooky…

The View: Despite denials by show reps, sources say Elisabeth is on the way out, if Babs has anything to do with it.  But what good is a show with hot topics if everyone’s on the same side?

Pete Wentz: Already debating whether to sell his yet-to-be-born baby’s first pics to a magazine.  We sense a great father-child relationship building already.

Will the economy stop the monster that is Facebook?

Will the economy stop the monster that is Facebook?

Britney: The courts have named her dad “permanent conservator” of her affairs and her estate. Though apparently permanent doesn’t actually mean permanent. It’s just til another legal process begins.

MTV: MTV is returning to its roots in a 21st century way: all music, all the time, all on the web. We’ll see how long this lasts.

Republicans: Inherently funnier or just easier to make fun of? McCain and company have been punchlines seven times more than the Obama folks on late-night TV.

Willa Holland: Loved her on The O.C. and we wish some of that bitchiness came through on Gossip Girl. Two more episodes to wow us, Willa.

Facebook: Could hire its 1,000th employee or could start massive layoffs. Undoubtedly will still define a generation and perhaps that’s really all that matters.

Oscars: Might the Best Picture category be a showdown between The Dark Knight and Wall-E? Might this be premature since the awards won’t be handed out til February? Yes and yes.

Jennifer Hudson: Speaking of showdowns, people are already speculating which celebrity magazine will better cover the tragedy. Sad excuse to make money or legitimately just doing their job?

Christian Science Monitor: Going out of print, effective early spring 2009. Still available on the web, though. What other papers will follow?

The View: “Don’t believe anything the blogs are saying,” said co-host Sherri Shepherd. We’re insulted!

SIZZLED OUT: Dustin Milligan (90210)

STILL SIZZLING: They say history repeats itself, especially on television. Case-in-point: This 90s favorite is being retooled to add its residence to next year’s fall schedule.

Not safe for USA Today

Bristol Palin and the Babydaddy: Not safe for USA Today

PopCardz: Want to keep Ashley Tisdale in your pocket?  You can with these new trading cards featuring random celebs with even more random facts about them.  The new pogs?

Stacy Peterson: Today marks the one year “anniversary” of her disappearance.  We bet it feels like forever to her family.  So sad.

Guitar Hero: What’s funnier: Top athletes like A-Rod and Michael Phelps in boxers and pink shorts?  Or top athletes like A-Rod and Michael Phelps rocking out Risky Business style?  How about both?

Prison Break: They’ve mastered breaking out but not securing their stuff!  A couple of the actors’ trailers were robbed last week, costing them thousands of dollars.

Gossip Girl: We didn’t see last night’s ep yet but some people are actually questioning whether there are romantic plans in the works for Serena and Blair–with each other!  Thankfully, you can expect nothing of the sort.

Ex-List: Serves us right for never getting around to watching the show.  Despite its intriguing plot, it’s been sacked.

Reuters: The second media company this month to have a “white powder” scare.  Again, it was a false alarm but better safe than sorry.

USA Today: Decided at the last minute not to publish an ad promoting teen pregnancy awareness.  Sponsored by the Candies Foundation, the PSA included pics of Jamie-Lynn Spears and Bristol Palin.  Most interesting: the New York Times did publish it.  USA Today’s mistake?  Or NYT’s?

SIZZLED OUT: Hayden Panettiere

STILL SIZZLING: Which up-and-coming actor might be kicked out of his zip code if he keeps making gay jokes?  At least he’s taken to his own blog to apologize.

Goodbye Tina, hello baby!

Goodbye Tina, hello baby!

Amy Poehler: Expect her to be out of SNL for a while.  She gave birth yesterday to a little comedian.

Jennnifer Hudson:
Used her MySpace blog to thank her fans for their support and well-wishes.  Also made a heartfelt plea for the return of her still-missing nephew.

Obama: Sent condolences to Hudson and family.  Publicity stunt or heartfelt concern for a fellow Chicagoan?

Anne Pressly: The Arkansas news anchor was severely beaten in a botched burglary last week.  She has since died of her injuries.  Too much death lately.  Let’s hope for a better November.

Anchorage Daily News: The major Alaskan newspaper has endorsed Obama.  That should tell you something.

Denis Leary: Not too long ago we told you Leary was having a war of words about autism.  His new topic?  His right to say gay slurs.  We have a feeling he’s going to come out of this 0 for 2.

Gossip Girl: Turns out the cast has gotten in trouble for leaking spoilers.  Oh well.

SIZZLED OUT: Justin Timberlake/Jessica Biel

STILL SIZZLING: The exec of this cult show got so angry at fans’ comments about a recent episode that he just released a statement defending his creative decisions.
