Even the circus leaves town...

Even the circus leaves town...

Britney: The headline says it all: Bad economy may Britney Spears’s Circus Tent.  See, even iconic pop stars aren’t immune!

Prison Break: Here’s some more info on the series’ end–it won’t all air on TV!  The so-called finale is still on for May 15 but then there will be two additional episodes released on DVD.  Thanks for digging into our pockets, guys.

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles are as good as canceled.  At least this frees up Brian Austin Green for 90210!

Twitter: Apparently there’s a “fight” going on between Ashton Kutcher and CNN’s Larry King on who will get to a million followers first.  Don’t these people have work to do??

Variety: We understand that they’re traditionally a trade magazine (read: in print), but really have no idea why they would lay off one of the web editors.  Pretty sure the web is the future of journalism.  Just sayin’.

Alec Baldwin: Speaking of the industry’s future, Baldwin wrote a whole column on it for The Huffington Post.  Why Baldwin?  We’re still trying to figure that one out.

Condoleezza Rice: And it gets weirder: Rice is now a columnist for The Daily Beast and she’s writing about, of all things, her love of Tiger Woods.  Random!

Gawker: Came up with the “5 types of American Idol watchers.” Love it!  Where do you fall?

3-D: Coming to a television near you!  The first “full-time 3-D network” is in the works.   Expect people to have a lot more headaches and nausea!

Blagojevich: Wow.  Just wow.  The former Illinois governor has signed on to a REALITY SHOW!  Can’t make this stuff up, folks!

SIZZLED OUT: TV Land

STILL SIZZLING: This actress (and book author!) is denying rumors that she’s anorexic.  Her excuse: she’s been pregnant and people have forgotten what she looks like thin!

Will he get America's vote?

Will he get America's vote?

American Idol: The New York Times wrote the best piece we’ve seen yet exploring the possibility that the show might end up with its first gay Idol–Adam Lambert.  The world can definitely handle that, no?

Phil Spector: In trial number two, the former go-to music producer was convicted of second degree murder.  He and his wacky hair will undoubtedly face jail time when he’s sentenced in May.

Mel Gibson: News that his wife filed for divorce isn’t that surprising.  What is is that they’ve been separated for three years.  Pretty sure they both vacationed with Britney last spring, though.  Maybe we’re wrong?

Zac Efron: Probably doesn’t realize it yet but he put his foot in his mouth twice in one interview with GQ.  First Efron slammed celebs who drink and hook up publicly, then he vowed not to get married til 30, “if ever.”  And how does Vanessa feel about that?

Reality TV: Here’s a short, interesting piece on lawsuits that result from reality shows.  Considering the lengthy contract we signed for Wheel of Fortune (and that was just a little game show!), we’re surprised suits like these are even possible!

SIZZLED OUT: Katy Perry

STILL SIZZLING: This network is planning an “anti-makeover” reality show.  Instead of figuring out what that means, can’t they just go back to I Love Lucy repeats?

A screencap from JT and Ciara's scandalous new video

A screencap from JT and Ciara's scandalous new video

American Idol: It’s hard out there for an Idol, especially if you’re David Cook.  The reigning champ took to his MySpace blog to call out aggressive fans.  Warns Cook: “preventative measures” may be taken if their behavior doesn’t stop.

DWTS: We always wondered what the celeb contestants got for their participation.  We hoped and assumed it was a donation to their favorite charity but apparently that’s not the case.  Instead they get paid upwards of $200,000!

Justin Timberlake: Wonder how Jessica Biel feels about JT’s sexy appearance in Ciara’s new music video.  You can say it’s acting and just business, but we know we wouldn’t be okay with this!

David Letterman: The Late Show host is just the latest entertainer to get married recently.  Dave announced last night that he wed his longtime girlfriend and babymama. Glad to hear there’ll be one more happy families around!

Lance Armstrong: In the midst of a cycling comeback, Armstrong has broken his collarbone.  Let’s wish the cyclist and father-to-be (again) a speedy recovery.

Facebook: Still getting slammed for the recent redesign but has said nothing to appease users.  This can’t end well, can it?

Jossip: Redesigned again!  At least they’ve re-posted a slew of Ashton Kutcher’s TwitPics.

SIZZLED OUT: Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart

STILL SIZZLING: This actress-comedian is working to recapture the magic of the 90s as she develops another sitcom.

She has greatest hits, but some forgettable looks!

She has greatest hits, but some forgettable looks!

Rihanna: One of the columnists at Entertainment Weekly wrote a great column on how people are mistaken for thinking Rihanna is a role model.  Memo to the world: being a pop singer doesn’t make you qualified to set examples for kids!

American Idol: Rumor has it that the producers already “picked” the final four.  The show’s response?  “No comment.”  Wouldn’t be the first time they’ve been accused of rigging the voting.  Definitely won’t be the last.

DWTS: There’s a ton of so-called professional post-show bloggers out there, but for an inside source, check out judge Bruno Tonioli’s over at The Daily Beast.

Madonna: Working on a greatest hits album to be released in the fall.  Will likely include new songs as well.  Does this woman ever stop?!

Natasha Richardson: With so many conflicting stories out there, we’re not going to link to anything.  Some say she’s brain dead.  Others say she was talking fine after the accident.  Let’s stop speculating and just wait for an official comment!

Facebook: As hardcore Twitter users (follow us at @sizzlemaker!), we simultaneously annoyed and pleased by Facebook’s recent changes.  Most people, it seems, are just upset because they can be.  No one likes change, do they?

SIZZLED OUT: SciFi (becoming SyFy)

STILL SIZZLING: This late actor, best known for his filmwork, directed two soon-to-be-released music videos before his unexpected death.

Suri and Shiloh: NOT ACTUALLY TOGETHER!

Suri and Shiloh: NOT ACTUALLY TOGETHER!

Rihanna: If you record a song with your alleged abuser is it guaranteed to fail?  Or will curiosity lead to mega success? Time will tell…

AniMayer: No more?  No more?!  Really?  That’s what everyone is reporting.  Is the split for good this time?

American Idol: Is the new veto rule giving the judges too much power?  Newsday sure is arguing against it.  Given past shocking and potentially unfair ousters, we’re on board.

CBS: Planning a fall pilot about a man who resurfaces after allegedly disappearing on 9/11.  Not sure the country is ready for something like this…

OK! Magazine: We like to think our readers are smarter than this but just to be sure: do not believe the cover photo seen above!  Totally photoshopped!

Demi Moore: Might be taking the whole new media trend a little too far. Who’s gonna tell her she and Ashton are acting more like mother and son??

Mark Zuckerberg: The Facebook founder is making his Oprah debut today!  We predict a huge drop in ratings.  What moms will want to see hear what he has to say?

Jossip: Makes the argument that pop culture is returning to the 90s.  We can’t complain.  It was a good decade!

SIZZLED OUT: Travis Barker and DJ AM

STILL SIZZLING: This 1980s version of Mean Girls could get the Broadway treatment.

barbie

A far cry from today's Barbie!

Chris Brown: Even though critics have urged Nickelodeon to revoke his Kids Choice Awards nominations, the network says the competition and voting will proceed as planned.  Wrong message to send to kids or what does one have to do with the other?  We’re very torn.

DWTS: Newsday is a bit “incredulous” that The Bachelor’s Melissa performed so well the other night despite being asked to join the competition last minute.  The article makes some interesting points but who really expects truth in reality television anymore?

Kelly Clarkson: Idol’s first winner admits she’s never fallen in love. How is that possible when little Miley Cyrus says she has dozens of times?

Jay Leno: Doing a free stand-up concert in Detroit for the unemployed.  Says Leno: “Who’s got money for entertainment these days?”  So true, Jay.  So true.

Conan O’Brien: Leno’s replacement is getting some funny endorsements from Tina Fey, Adam Sandler and other big-name stars.  Curious to see if the ratings stunt pays off when his new show premieres in June.  Still a long way off.

K-Rock: Rock and roll isn’t here to stay if you live in New York.  Later today, the radio station is changing to the Top 40 genre. That means no more Metallica and no more shock jocks Opie and Anthony.  The station’s previous switch from rock to talk radio failed and the company offered fans a mea culpa.  Maybe second time’s charm?

Barbie: Horrible narration aside, this video provides an interesting look at how Barbie has changed over the years.  Kind of made us want to go digging through our collection!

Power Rangers: Not sure if this should make us feel old or young, but the classic children’s series will no longer make new episodes.  Probably a good thing since every season after the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers sucked.  That’s right–we said it.

SIZZLED OUT: Carrie Underwood

STILL SIZZLING: Tickets to this Brit’s concert sold out in just 7 seconds. Imagine what it would’ve been like if computer sales existed back in his group’s heyday!

No reason for this picture other than that this post needed a little male-ness.

No reason for this picture other than that this post needed a little male-ness.

DWTS: Guess something good can come from being dumped on national television.  Melissa, now that she’s done with The Bachelor (in more ways than one) is rumored to be replacing Nancy O’Dell.  Guess we’ll find out when the season premieres tonight!

Ashlee Simpson: As if CSI wasn’t bad enough, Simpson is taking her acting skills over to the Melrose Place remake.  Is the show doomed now?  Or was it already?

Dakota Fanning: Officially joined the Twilight sequel, New Moon.  Guess her pale skin is an asset, then?

Demi Moore: Thank god for Twitter!  Otherwise we wouldn’t know Mrs. Kutcher fights with her TiVo and watches American Idol like the rest of us!

SIZZLED OUT: Vince Vaughn

STILL SIZZLING: It’s just not funny anymore.  This TV twosome called it quits…again.

Cover of Miley's "tell-all"

Cover of Miley's "tell-all"

Britney: Would you still go to her concert if you knew she was lip-synching the entire time?  ‘Cause, um, she is!

Miley Cyrus: In her new autobiography, she refers to ex-Nick Jonas only as Prince Charming.  Gotta love the mind of a 16-year-old!

American Idol: Not sure how we feel about voting for someone called Lil Rounds.  Are we just being name-ist?

HSM: Since no one from the original cast is likely to appear in the fourth film, MTV put together a “What’s Next” list for Zac and the gang.

Glamour: Has a very creative photo gallery of current celebs impersonating pop culture icons, including Madonna, Audrey Hepburn and even Michelle Obama.

SATC: The Daily Beast puts a hilarious spin on Sex and the City, given today’s recession-plagued society.  It is a fair question, though, to wonder if people will still want to view their excess in light of our current reality.

No Doubt: Offering their fans digital copies of every one of their songs with purchase of concert tickets for their upcoming tour.  Not a bad deal given the aforementioned recession.

Facebook: The planned new features look very Twitter-like.  Amping up the competition, eh?

SIZZLED OUT: Two and a Half Men

STILL SIZZLING: This talk show host will give people a different view of her life if her autobiographical sitcom is made into a full series.

Make room for one more!

Make room for one more!

Oscars: Complete coverage here!

Oscars Pt. 2: Putting a new twist on a best/worst dressed list, The Daily Beast looks at past dresses that were unfairly slammed.

American Idol: Can tragedy earn you votes?  Finalist Danny Gokey promises that’s not his strategy but there’s no way it won’t affect people’s view of him.

Kelly Clarkson: Her entire new album was “accidentally” leaked by a foreign iTunes service.  Don’t think it’ll hurt record sales, though.

Nicole Richie: She and babydaddy Joel Madden are expecting kid number two!  Maybe they should get married?

Clay Aiken: Some reports say he was dropped, others say he left.  Regardless how you spin it, Aiken is no longer with RCA records.

Wheel of Fortune: Our episode (airing Friday!) is getting so much promotion!  There’s even a little article about it in this week’s PEOPLE!

Defamer: Merging into Gawker.  Would be sad if we thought there was a real difference between the two anyway.

SIZZLED OUT: Nelly

STILL SIZZLING: This comedian who previously said she was going to spend this year “unplugged,” took to her blog to say she’s “lovin’ Tyra” and promote her appearance on the talk show.

Worthy of praise and scholarly study?

Worthy of praise and scholarly study?

Obama: It was only a matter of time before a political cartoon relating to our new president caused outrage.  Freedom of the press?  Low blow? Undecided how we feel.

Solange: Beyonce’s little sis had a little scare yesterday when she passed out and woke up in the hospital.  She took to her Twitter to tell everyone the problem was just dehydration.  So is this the future of PR?

Oprah: Caught part of an episode today and saw she was communicating with guests via Skype.  So is the future of talk shows?

Oscars: If you’re not into the nominated movies (and believe us, it’s possible!), here are three other reasons to watch: Zac Efron, Miley and Robert Pattison.  Still not convinced?  Yeah, we didn’t think so.

The Hills: One of the shows that will be the subject of panels at this year’s Paley Festival.  The Hills?  Seriously?

MC Hammer: Getting his own reality show on A & E.  Didn’t know he had 5 kids!  But also not really surprised…

Katherine McPhee: In addition to appearing on an upcoming episode of Brothers & Sisters, the former American Idol contestant will do a guest stint on CSI.  Looks like someone has a case of the acting bug!

USA Today: We like this headline–‘Lost’ and ’24’: Simple titles, complex, brilliant shows.

Facebook: A recent uproar about Terms of Service changes may have been quelled but it’s still worth reading what happened and who was behind it.

SIZZLED OUT: Justin Guarini

STILL SIZZLING: This popular former game show host admits he’s not one of its “loyal” viewers.  Guess he doesn’t want to come on down to TV set.
