The family that tweets together, stays together!

The family that tweets together, stays together!

Digital TV: Damn that House.  The congressional one, that is.  Though the Senate approved a delay in the mandatory switch to digital TVs, the House did not.  So if you’re still using analogs, you will be completely screwed in less than 3 weeks.  Don’t you just love the government?

Kelly Clarkson: Move over, Britney.  Clarkson just broke your Billboard record for largest jump–a whopping 98 spots thanks to the sudden popularity of her song My Life Would Suck Without You.  Perhaps Brit Brit’s would be better with Clarkson??

Jay Leno: Oprah should move over, too.  A new survey shows that Jay Leno reigns supreme among TV personalities.  I would’ve been inclined to say women don’t care for Leno, but then men generally don’t care for O.  So maybe they’re even?

NBC: Among their planned pilots is Day One, about a post-apocalyptic Earth.  It’s one thing to see that in a two-hour movie.  But a whole series?  Watching that week after week would probably freak us out.

Ashton Kutcher: On Twitter and apparently got wife Demi Moore to join.  Will Rumer be next?

Kelly Rowland: The former Destiny’s Child member fired her longtime manager–who just so happens to be Beyonce’s dad.  Supposedly the split was “amicable” but there’s gotta be more to it, right?!

Prison Break: Life is imitating art in Michigan.  A man purposely robbed a gas station and mini-mart in hopes of joining his brother in jail.  That’s one more thing to weigh on your conscience, Michael Scofield!

Blagojevich: Has “won” according to Gawker simply because his media tour showed he was a “harmless lovable nut.”  However, Dan Abrams over at The Daily Beast says he’s a “PR catastrophe.”

SIZZLED OUT: The First Wives Club

STILL SIZZLING: This TV chef is planning a huge party for SXSW, complete with the resiquite indie bands.  Maybe she deserves some cool points after all!

Not everyone's favorite piano man

Not everyone's favorite piano man

24: The new season is just getting started and you better cherish every second of it.  Star Kiefer Sutherland says he could see next year being the last but that it’s ultimately up to the audience.  Funny, we thought it was up to the network!  Since when do audiences ever get their say?

Oprah: Though she was “amused” by Blagojevic saying he considered her to replace Obama in the Illinois senate, O also says she thinks she would’ve done a good job!

DWTS: Not sure if this is good news or bad but Kevin Federline will not be appearing on the next season.

Supernatural: The show suffered a devastating loss on Sunday when one of its executive producers passed away from cancer.  Not sure yet if/how this will affect the show’s future but that probably isn’t the most important thing right now.

Terrell Owens: Getting his own VH1 reality show. Just what we need.  Not that there ever is a reality show we need…

Digital TV: If you haven’t made the switch yet, you could have four more months to do so if the House and Senate can agree.  The Senate, at President Obama’s urging, already passed the bill.

The Real World: Leaving the country next season to travel oh so far away to Cancun.  We’re still waiting for The Real World: Long Island or, at the very least, The Hamptons.

Variety: The latest to be hit with layoffs.  Our job prospects are decreasing by the day…

Defamer: Making the bold prediction that The Curious Case of Benjamin Button will go 0-for-13 at the Oscars next month.

Slate: Making the even bolder claim that Billy Joel is “the worst pop singer ever.”  That is extremely harsh, even for them.  Jossip fired back with a list of their own.

SIZZLED OUT: Lauren Graham (Gilmore Girls)

STILL SIZZLING: This once popular series will be unexpectedly going on a long hiatus soon.  Hope this doesn’t mean things are gonna get ugly!

Not partying together

Not partying together

90210: Tori Spelling will most likely be guest-starring on 90210 this season.  For real this time.  We think.

Oprah: Not throwing the other O an inauguration party.  We’re kind of surprised.  Thought she’d be going all out!

Twilight: So they decided not to recast the role of Jacob after all.  Not that we care.

Kelsey Grammar: Will star in a new show that’s (allegedly) reflective of the current economic state.

The Daily Beast: Suggests being more web-friendly would help Obama’s administration.  Not sure we understand.

SIZZLED OUT: Katy Perry

STILL SIZZLING: This show beat out 90210 and Fringe for favorite new TV series at the People’s Choice Awards last night.  But if you ask us, the show is kind of hard to remember.

Are they or aren't they?!

Are they or aren't they?!

Britney: Celebrated the New Year by attending her brother Bryan’s “secret” wedding.  Interesting that he got married just months after being named one of PEOPLE’s hottest bachelors!

Pink: What is the deal with ex-husband Carey Hart?  No longer married but still “love” each other–and last night, he introduced her on stage.  What a strange relationship!

Taylor Swift: Forced to share a stage with ex-BF Joe Jonas as the ball dropped.  Is it fair to assume those two did not share a New Year’s greeting?

Twitter: Getting (unwanted?) press attention after it came out Israel is using the social media site to keep people updated on the Gaza conflict.

Oprah: Remember those cute kids who changed T.I.’s Whatever You Like into an election song?  O just gave their school a check for more than $300,000.

Nikki Blonsky: No longer facing charges for an airport altercation with one of the ANTM contestants.  Her dad could still get up to 5 years in jail.

Gawker: The media company sold or is in the process of selling two of their sites: Consumerist and Defamer.  Even the on-line world isn’t immune to the economy’s woes!

Viacom: If you want your MTV, you can have it!  The company reached a deal with Time Warner Cable to keep their stations–Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, etc.–on the air.

Blagojevich: We fully expected to return from our travels and find him out of office.  No such luck.

2008: Sooooooo over the ‘top ten’ and ‘best of’ lists.  Hello 2009!

STILL SIZZLING: This celebrity supercouple may or may not be getting divorced on Valentine’s Day.  But what about the kids?!

How great is this?!

How great is this?!

Usher: Just last month he confirmed he’s having another kid, and now the son is here!

Macaulay Culkin: The Home Alone actor is just the latest to face a family tragedy: his sister died this week after being hit by a car!

Obama: Stuck answering Blagojevich questions.  So not fair.

Newsweek: Times change and so does Newsweek apparently.  In store: circulation and staff cuts, as well as a new writing style.  Guess they also plan on losing respect, too.

Gawker: This post is hilar.  A picture of the new PEOPLE cover that features Tom Cruise, Ricky Martin and Oprah with the headline ‘The PEOPLE Closet Issue.’

Indianapolis Colts: Taking stadium sponsorship to a new high (or is that low?) with in-house washing machines, airplane seats and gas pumps.  What ever happened to just enjoying the game?

Top 10: Tired of hearing all about 2008?  Well, how about the top movies of 2009?!

EW: There are scripts just sitting around Hollywood, waiting to be produced, and it’s, like, a really big deal–or so says the mag about this “black list.” Why do we need to care (or want to be teased?!) if there’s no guarantee they’ll be made?  We’re much more interested in the Kate-Leo (Titanic reunion, duh!) cover story!

Google: Not sure yet whether this is a blow or an aid to the magazine industry, but through Google Book Search, you’ll now be able to read certain titles on-line.

One governor's "web of deceit"

One governor's "web of deceit"

Mark Ruffalo: His brother, who was shot in the head last week, has died of his injuries.  The suspect finally turned herself in and will likely face a murder charge.

Grey’s Anatomy: This has been burning up the web the last few hours.  Apparently T.R. Knight has asked to be released from his contract.  Not all that surprising but still should be interesting to see how it unfolds.

Gossip Girl: Getting some buzz for their clever episode titles.  If memory serves us correctly, The O.C. (also by GG creator Josh Schwartz) had some pretty good ones, too.  Can’t forget The Chrismukkah Bar Mitz-vahkkah or The SnO.C.!

Gossip Girl Pt. 2: We’ve been seeing a lot of speculation that Bart Bass isn’t actually dead.  Thoughts?

Rod Blagojevich: Most interesting to us about the arrested governor is that he actually thought he could have the editorial board of the Chicago Tribune fired!  Looks like he failed overall but still managed to cause some trouble for the paper.

Rod Blagojevich Pt. 2: If that chart above (by Gawker) is any indication, the soon-to-be former governor had a lot of connections.  Who will emerge unscathed?  Let’s hope Obama!

Rod Blogojevich Pt. 3: RedEye nominates Rick Astley to replace him.  We. Love. It.

Oprah: Admitting how much weight she’s gained–and how its fluxated through the years makes us feel a lot better!

According to Jim: Everyone’s quick to bash this show without realizing it has been leading the ratings for years.  Obviously, someone out there likes it!

Holiday TV: A fun look at the best and worst holiday-themed episodes of our favorite shows.  Oddly, there’s only two listed for the ‘worst.’  Surely there’s a lot more!

NBC: Ya know how General Motors is failing more and more each day?  So is NBC, says Newsday.  And no, they’re not being too harsh.

Yahoo: Massive layoffs happening today.

Rolling Stone: Already did theirs.

Twitter: Did you know we’re on there?  Yep, we are.

SIZZLED OUT: Wanda Sykes

STILL SIZZLING: This rapper was just arrested for the umpteenth time this year alone.  Doesn’t he ever learn?

Who knew they were friends?

The Dark Knight: Haven’t seen it yet?  Well, you’re in luck.  The box office smash will return to theaters in January to, um, smash the box office.  Or you could just buy the DVD instead.

Jimmy Fallon: If you’re curious to see how he’ll do as the new host on Late Night, NBC is offering a taste every weeknight at 12:30 a.m.  on its web site.  There Fallon will star in video blogs meant to draw viewers in before he actually appears on the show itself in another 5 or so months.

NBC: Will a MAJOR shakeup at the top bring back some must see TV?  One can only hope.

Full House: Supposedly John Stamos and others want to bring it back.  Will it be a fuller house now or something?

Washington Post: Making the bold claim that this is one of the hottest television seasons in terms of eye candy.  Discuss.

Survivor: Auctioning off a trip to the set–oops, we mean, deserted locale–to two “lucky” viewers.

Oprah: What if you followed very bit of advice given out on her show?  Well, then you’d end up like this girl.

America Ferrera: Will host a special “conversation” with soon-to-be Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton.  The point of the event is to get rid of Clinton’s campaign debt.  Does that mean no one’s getting paid for this?

SIZZLED OUT: Paris Hilton

STILL SIZZLING: Wanting to look like your favorite celeb–and even going under the knife to do so is becoming increasingly common.  These two box office babes are among the most requested.  Meow!

If Madonna's not dating him, we will!

If Madonna's not dating him, we will!

A-Rod: Just “friends” with Madonna, he says. “That’s it.” Guess we have to believe him.

O.J. Simpson: Sentenced to at least 15 years in jail for armed robbery. Long overdue, some will surely say.

Johnny Depp: Says being a celebrity is “mortifying.” We have no sympathy.

Oprah: The most powerful woman in entertainment, says The Hollywood Reporter. We’ll get on board with that.

Priviledged: Guess sweeps stunts aren’t over at The CW. They just scheduled Pete Wentz to guest star. Is there anything that guy doesn’t do?

Gossip Girl: Spin-off buzz is building again. We’ll believe when we see it.

Gossip Girl Pt. 2: Legit Facebook profiles of the cast?

Pepsi: Receiving major flack for suicide-themed ads in Germany. We’d like to meet the person that thought they would be a good idea.

Trailers: We’re not the only ones who like them more than movies themselves!

Rush & Malloy: One of the most famous gossip columns is going from daily to weekly. Another sign of the times?

Mollywood: The gossip blog is shutting down. Jossip will try to fill the void.

MySpace: When one door closes, another opens. Launching its own gossip site, DailyFill though their label won’t be anywhere on it. Beneficial?

Gawker: Has a pretty fair response to EW’s 25 Smarted People in TV list.

Newsday: Another job opportunity gone. Our hometown paper is laying off 100 staffers. Happy Friday!

Media Ink: Filled with more bad news.

Nielsen: Think they suck? Here’s your chance to tell them. Please don’t waste it!

For Ro's sake, maybe history should repeat itself!

For Ro's sake, maybe history should repeat itself!

EW: A non-Twilight cover!  Yes!  Jennifer Aniston in its place.  We can deal.  Best part, though: Aniston compares Vogue to a tabloid for fixating its story on her and Brangelina!

Grammys: Nominations are out.  Leading the pack are Lil Wayne and Coldplay, two artists we don’t care for.  Guess that means we have bad taste?

Oprah: Surprise, surprise.  O is bringing her show to D.C. for Obama’s inaugeration.

Obama: Speaking of the inaugeration, what will the Mrs. wear?  There’s some sketches floating around.  They’re not half-bad!

Broadway: Grease is closing.  We never got a chance to see it.  Oh, well.

Broadway Pt. 2: The Flintstones are (maybe) coming!  Will this be Rosie O’Donnell’s next gig?

Neve Campbell: Coming back to primetime as one-half of an interracial couple on a new series.  Modern times call for modern shows!

The Apprentice: Why can’t anyone say ‘you’re fired!’ to Donald Trump?  It would really help us all.  Instead, NBC is planning to air each episode of the new season in two-hour installments.

TV Academy Hall of Fame: Bea Arthur is being inducted!  We do love our Golden Girls!

Luke Wilson: Is he really on Twitter?  Time will tell, we suppose.

The Real World: The subject of a special panel at the Paley Center for Media.  Though this is embarrassing to admit, we really wish we could go!

Britney and a healthy Jayden

Britney and a healthy Jayden

Britney: While on that first family trip, tragedy almost struck.  Son Jayden, 2, spent the night in the hospital after suffering an allergic reaction.  He’s “fine” now.

Jennifer Hudson: Though he still hasn’t been charged with any crimes, Hudson’s brother-in-law will remain in jail on a parole violation.  His girlfriend told cops he told her he was involved in the murders.

Gossip Girl: They say the show is like a chess game.  And their inspiration?  You can thank William Shakespeare for that.  What either of these things have in common with GG we’re still not sure.

Jennie Garth: In a preview story for tomorrow’s episode of 90210, Garth tells the New York Post that Kelly’s trip with Dylan didn’t go so well and now she’s ready to start a life without him.  Can’t they do anything to make original viewers happy?  Garth cites her loyalty to longtime fans but this certainly isn’t showing it.

Oprah: Launching an on-line store.  Will she be giving away cars with that?

PEOPLE: Marking its 35th anniverary and the 35th People’s Choice Awards with a new category: hottest star under 35.  And we thought they said age was nothing but a number…
