Is this story really deserving of an EW cover?

Is this story really deserving of an EW cover?

Lost: We’re starting to regret never jumping on this bandwagon.  Our chances will further be diminished once American Idol starts airing opposite it in March.  Great.

Rachel Bilson: We were rooting for her to get back with Adam Brody but we doubt that’ll happen now that she’s engaged to Hayden Christensen.

Jimmy Fallon: There’s a lot riding on him when his NBC late-night show finally starts airing.  After all, does he really want to go down in history with these failures?  We don’t think he’ll be able to hack it, but we’re a little biased since we’re not Fallon fans in the first place.

Reality TV: Believe it or not, the much-maligned genre does something well, the Los Angeles Times wants you to know.  It includes a lot more diverse characters than scripted TV.  But here’s hoping that will change with the Obama era!

Entertainment Weekly: It was bad enough when Twilight dominated the mag’s covers before and during the film’s release, but again now?  So. Over. It.  Which is kind of funny, considering we were never into it in the first place!  The TV Addict’s tongue-in-cheek cover idea is so much better!

Gawker: TIME listed them as one of the most overrated blogs.  Not surprisingly, Gawker disagrees.  (But we think we ALL can agree the spot given to PerezHilton.com is most certainly deserving!)

Fashion Week: In honor of the industry’s most important week of the year, take some time to check out Jezebel’s collection of hilarious runway-shows-gone-wrong videos.  Priceless.

Wheel of Fortune: Our episode doesn’t air til the end of the month but they’re already promoting it!  If you recall, it will be the show’s 5,000th episode. We’re famous by association!

SIZZLED OUT: Salma Hayek

STILL SIZZLING: More engagement news!  This hairy Idol contestant revealed this week that he’s getting married this summer.  (And no, it’s not Sanjaya!)

One of these things is not like the others.

One of these things is not like the others.

Chris Brown: One week after news first broke about the alledged assault, Brown finally released a statement saying he’s “saddened” by what’s happened but urges people not to believe everything they hear and read.  Brown might have more to say after tonight when MTV airs a special on his relationship with Rihanna.

Grammys: When Brown and Rihanna canceled their appearances due to the above, Justin Timberlake came to the rescue by putting together a last-minute performance.

American Idol: All seven winners gathered in Disney World to open a new attraction called The American Idol Experience.  Very original title!

Twitter: Reports say the micro-blogging site is worth $230 million.  But it’s still no Facebook!

SIZZLED OUT: U2

STILL SIZZLING: This upcoming Dancing With the Stars contestant is suspiciously absent from any related articles on the Entertainment Tonight site.  Could it be because she’s the host of a rival program??

Plastic surgery can lead to very bad things!

Plastic surgery can lead to very bad things!

Chris Brown: One of the cover lines on the new issue of PEOPLE reads: Chris Brown Charged in Assault on Rihanna.  We’re a little disappointed with the choice of words because, if you ask us, it’s not been made clear yet that he’s been charged with assault.  We’ve been hearing different things about what making criminal threats actually means, and I imagine the mag’s lawyer approved the wording, but we still think it was a poor ethical choice.

Chris Brown Pt. 2: Even Sesame Street is pulling the episode that he guest-stars in!  Ridiculous!

Usher: Details are slowly coming out about what went wrong with his wife’s plastic surgery.  Apparently not long after being sedated she went into cardiac arrest.  As horrible as that sounds, she’s reportedly doing much better now.

American Idol: Every season there’s drama surrounding some contestant and here it comes this time around: one of the previously-announced 36 finalists has been disqualified for unknown reasons.  Rumors suggest she had an inappropriate relationship–whatever that means–with some of the folks behind the show.

American Idol Pt. 2: MTV has a great run-down of the 36 finalists, Twitter-style.  Don’t know what that means? Join and follow us!

The Bachelor: The show will get a 14th season now that it has improved considerably in the ratings.  We say that’s only because of the single dad angle.

SNL: David Paterson, governor of New York, is upset again at the show’s depiction of him.  But isn’t anything–especially public figures–fair game on SNL?

The View: Classic quote from co-host Joy Behar: “I cook and I collect pots. I don’t smoke pot – I collect them. I’m not Michael Phelps.”

SIZZLED OUT: Mandy Moore (Ryan Adams)

STILL SIZZLING: This overseas band–quite popular here in the States–will appear on a late-night TV show for 5 nights in a row.  Let’s hope they make each performance like a beautiful day!

First comes RENT, then comes marriage. And now, some Practice!

First comes RENT, then comes marriage. And now, some Practice!

Chris Brown: And the plot thickens.  While he hasn’t been charged with battery (just criminal threats) and no official reps or agencies have confirmed the woman involved was in fact Rihanna, apparently their’s hasn’t been a happy relationship for quite some time.

Kate Hudson: Back with Owen Wilson once again.  Perhaps third time’s a charm?

Idina Menzel: Though we usually don’t like it when couples work together, we’re a sucker for this pair.  Menzel will guest-star on an episode of hubby Taye Diggs’ Private Practice.

Grammys: Increased its ratings by about 10 percent.  Pretty impressive since award shows have generally been on the decline.  Guess people liked all those performances!

American Idol: Paula has officially gone on the record saying she thinks this year’s winner will be a guy again. How can she say that? (Then again, how can she say a lot of things she says…)  It’s way too early to make a statement like that.  Anything can happen!

DWTS: They always come back in the end.  Months after saying she wouldn’t appear on the show again, Julianne Hough will be back this season as a dancing pro.  Her partner: real-life boyfriend Chris Wicks.  Great foreplay, we suppose, but the tension and stress certainly can’t be good for the relationship.

SIZZLE: Did you notice our new header?  We loves it! All the credit goes to Maddie at Better in Pink.

SIZZLED OUT: Alex Rodriguez

STILL SIZZLING: This guy, probably best known right now as the much-younger husband to music’s one-time ultimate diva, will be the new host of America’s Got Talent, now that Jerry Springer has stepped down.

This photo is being used everywhere!

This photo is being used everywhere!

Jessica Simpson: The cover story on 3 entertainment mags/tabloids this week.  Even PEOPLE went with it.  Lame.

PEOPLE: Speaking of PEOPLE, they have very bizarre poll up asking which male actor looks the best in drag.  Is this really necessary?

American Idol: The addition of a new judge hasn’t added much to the show, but what if you cut one of the judges? MSNBC says Randy Jackson should go!

Facebook: The headline to this article says it all: Facebook Turns 5–But Can It Survive? We say yes.  It ain’t going anywhere any time soon.  And that’s not a bad thing.  Gawker shares its own opinion here.

Clay Aiken: Will be a guest judge on the new season of America’s Next Top Model, which begins later this month.  Doesn’t get much more random than that.

Emmys: The television categories will have 6 nominees from now on instead of 5, and will give all members of the Academy equal voting, in an effort to “increase inclusivity.” No matter what, someone’s still gonna be pissed, though, because you can’t recognize or include everything.

Digital TV: They’re all a bunch of flip-floppers!  After previously voting against it, Congress now ruled that the mandatory switch to digital TV won’t happen until June.

Stephen King: He better watch out.  Many a vampire might be after him now that he said Twilight author Stephanie Meyer “can’t write worth a darn” ‘Dem’s fightin’ words!

Iron Man 2: Robert Downey, Jr. promises that the sequel to last summer’s blockbuster will be “three times more fun and strange.”  Since when do fun and strange go together?

JuicyCampus: The internet just got a little less swarmier now that this gossip site, popular among college students, announced it’s closing.  About time!

Jossip: For sale, but you can hardly tell.  There’s only a little banner at the top of the site, asking for “serious inquiries.”  Damn that economy!

SIZZLED OUT: Gwyneth Paltrow (Chris Martin)

STILL SIZZLING: This off-and-on couple is apparently back on ever since he went through a “life-changing experience.”  Will another reality show follow??

Scrubbing up once more!

Scrubbing up again!

Heath Ledger: On the anniversary of his death (Jan. 22, 2008), he gets a posthumous Oscar nomination, the only one for The Dark Knight.

George Clooney: After months of ‘will he or won’t he?’ debate, Clooney will indeed make the rounds once more on ER, PEOPLE is reporting.

Oscars: Wall-E isn’t up for best picture after all.  Dun dun dunnnnnn.

Oscars, Pt. 2: The Golden Globes nominated Kate Winslet for supporting actress in The Reader.  Now she’s got leading actress but nothing for Revolutionary Road, which–unlike at the Globes–was shut out of the top categories.

American Idol: Can anything take this thing down?  Even with the inaugural festivities broadcast last night, Idol still racked up the highest ratings.  There’s gotta be a fix, right?  Or were people Obama-ed out by nightfall?

Veronica Mars: Fans who felt jilted by the show’s cancellation a few years back can rejoice now that a movie adaptation is finally underway.  Never watched the series but probably could be convinced to go see it.

Fall Out Boy: Recorded a special version of The Simpsons theme song, to be played after this week’s episode.  Our guess is Star Wars is next.

Obama: Gotta love the internet.  You can be in one place and still see practically every Obama front page from yesterday’s papers.

Obama, Pt. 2: He doesn’t have to give up his addiction!  Obama will keep the CrackBerry, now outfitted with special security encryption.  So how long until it’s hacked?

The Daily Show: Time flies!  The little series that could is 10 years old!  And Variety has a bunch of articles to mark the milestone.

No Doubt: Hey baby! Going on tour (with Paramore) this summer for the first time in 5 years!

SIZZLED OUT: Marcia Cross

STILL SIZZLING: This alleged hold-out on a TV-to-movie adaptation said he might “put the script in his shredder.”

Does she look flustered to you?

American Idol: Did you hate last night’s season premiere?  Or that it even premiered at all?  AdAge feels your pain.

Arrested Development: It’s once again unclear whether the series will be made into a movie.  So sick of this back and forth!

Taylor Swift: It’s a frequent question in Hollywood–she can sing but can she act?  Swift will have a chance to prove she’s a double-threat when she guest-stars on CSI.

Bush: Why must he continue to torture us and schedule a farewell speech during primetime? Hasn’t he interrupted enough  TV programming already?

Britney: Her Twitter account was one of the unfortunate celeb ones hacked earlier this month and now someone on her staff may be paying the price.

Kate Winslet: Did you catch her Golden Globes acceptance speeches?  We thought they were endearing and adorable.  Her fellow Brits disagree…strongly.

Vannessa Hudgens: That Twilight report is now being denied.  Good!

Katy Perry: Peeved at PEOPLE and other mags for (allegedly) taking some remarks out of context.  Writes Perry on her blog: “When I wanna share something with the world, the world will know… otherwise, stop looking for a story, or an explanation.”

Ray Romano: Will star in a new TNT “dramedy” about guys going through a mid-life crisis.  Hmmm.  Wonder if this show is autobiographical, too…

Glenn Close: The latest celeb to get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.  And the best part?  We’ll be going there Friday!

Lil’ Wayne: The first story we’ve seen on who’s performing at the Grammys in February.  Can’t say we’re thrilled.

SIZZLED OUT: Wheel of Fortune

STILL SIZZLING: How will Sizzlemaker do on Wheel of Fortune?  Come back late tomorrow for a recap of the taping.  (Though this doesn’t make us feel too good.)

Idol's new judge is getting married!

Idol's new judge is getting married!

American Idol: Back tonight.  Will you be watching?

American Idol Pt. 2: New judge Kara DioGuardi announced today that she’s engaged.  Randy Jackson is the only other married judge currently on the show.

American Idol Pt. 3: Yes!  David Cook and Kimberly Caldwell broke up!  This means we still have a chance!

Jennifer Garner: We have a name for daughter number two.  And we don’t like it one bit.

Howie Mandel: In and out of the hospital for an “irregular heartbeat.”  Maybe Deal or No Deal is just too exciting for him?

Prison Break: As expected, the show won’t be back next year.  We all can admit the show has run its course.  That said, we have no idea how it’ll end! And why do they still call it canceled when the shows execs and actors even say they don’t want to continue?  Mutual decision, people!  Canceled does not convey that!

Josh Holloway: The Lost star told PEOPLE some pretty disturbing details about he and his wife being held at gunpoint in 2005.  Never want to imagine what that’s like.

Allison Sweeney: Life just got even busier for The Biggest Loser host and longtime Days of Our Lives star: she gave birth to another child!

As The World Turns: If you missed yesterday’s show, you missed a lot. Gay characters Luke and Noah, who caused a firestorm when they kissed on the show more than than a year ago, finally had sex.  Of course nothing more than shirtless making out was shown but it’s still a big step forward.

Vogue: Insiders are speculating that putting Blake Lively on the February cover is a sign of how bad things are for the mag.  Not sure we get it, but whatevs.

Facebook: It’ll take another year but the social network could outpower MySpace.

Think anyone did this to her while she was preggers?

Think anyone did this to her while she was preggers?

Jennifer Garner: Gave birth yesterday to daughter number two.  No word yet if the name will be another crayon color.

John Travolta: Predictably, John, Jett and Kelly Preston are on the cover of this week’s PEOPLE.  Will probably be a big seller.

American Idol: Telling people not to believe a letter they may receive in a mail claiming they’ve won prize money.  Gotta love scams.

Nip/Tuck: Got a scathing review from the Sun-Sentinel.  While we wouldn’t be quite as harsh, we agree the show doesn’t seem as fresh and cutting edge (no pun intended) anymore.

Sarah Palin: After praising her daughter and soon-to-be son-in-law for working hard, word comes that new father Levi Johnston has quit his job after a newspaper discovered he wasn’t eligible for the position.  Ah, investigative journalism at its finest!

The Real World: The Brooklyn edition premieres tonight.  Kind of over it.  How ’bout you?

iTunes: Changing their pricing so that songs cost differently depending on how “popular” they are.

Forbes: T’was their turn for yesterday.  Lucky them.

The Atlantic: Wrote a piece speculating on what would happen if The New York Times went out of business and, let us tell you, it ain’t pretty.

SIZZLED OUT: Lindsay Lohan (Samantha Ronson)

STILL SIZZLING: This singer is offering a contest where fans can submit videos to air during her performance at the Grammys.  Will they try it and will they like it?

The new parents are keeping it in the family!

The new parents are keeping it in the family!

Gossip Girl: Back from its winter hiatus tonight!  And so is One Tree Hill!  We couldn’t be happier!

Jennifer Love Hewitt: Before the holidays she was engaged.  After the holidays she’s single.  That time of the year can be hard on all of us, we tell ya.

Rebecca Romijn: Gave birth to twin girls last week, one of which is named Charlie…as in Jerry O’Connell’s brother Charlie.  Awkward?

Jennifer Hudson: Contrary to rumors, she won’t be performing at Obama’s inauguration.  Wonder when she’ll get back out there?  Not that we can blame her…

The Bachelor: As we said in November, we’re very interested in seeing what happens this season, which premieres tonight.  A single dad going on a dating show?  So not fair to the kid.

NYT: Credits “superheroes” with saving the film industry in 2008.

NYT Pt. 2: Unfortunately for them, their own industry has yet to be saved.  More evidence of how bad things are: the newspaper will now have ads on its front page–a very non-traditional move.

Men’s Vogue: Going from a previously announced 2 issues a year to…none, according to The Media is Dying.

Perez Hilton: Expect to see him everywhere this week hawking his new book.  Groan.

Facebook: Celebs with legit profiles include Lance Bass, Julie Benz and Josh Groban, but good luck finding them!

Twitter: That nasty virus is still going around and led to the hacking of some celeb accounts.  Guess that helps this article which advocates banning them altogether!  Maybe they should join Facebook?

Sizzle: Check out the shout-out we got on the One Tree Hill Blog!

SIZZLED OUT: Georgina (Michelle Trachtenberg), Gossip Girl

STILL SIZZLING: This former Idol was voted favorite star under 35, a new category for the People’s Choice Awards.
