At least he LOOKS funny!

At least he LOOKS funny!

Natasha Richardson: In critical condition after a skiing accident.  Our favorite Natasha movie: The Parent Trap!  (Yes, the one with Lindsay Lohan.  Don’t judge!)

Obama: Going on The Tonight Show Thursday for the first time since he became president.  Good way to reach the masses or not the place for a head-of-state?

Zac Efron: Took some VERY scandalous photos for Interview Magazine.  What did Vanessa have to say about this?!

DJ AM: Seeking $20 million in damages for injuries, physical and otherwise, in the September plane crash with Travis Barker. Can’t say we blame him but throwing money at a problem doesn’t exactly fix it.

Don Imus: The controversial but very successful radio talk show host announced yesterday that he has prostate cancer.  Ironically, he’s spent a great deal of his life working with cancer patients, especially children.

Fall Out Boy: Bringing 50 Cent on tour with them.  Something tells us they don’t quite appeal to exactly the same audience…

MTV: Tapped Andy Samberg to host May’s movie awards.  Not necessarily a bad choice but we never really found his style of funny, well, funny.

SIZZLED OUT: Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson

STILL SIZZLING: This niche channel is changing its name–ever so slightly–in hopes that’ll become “less geeky.”  Yeah, good luck with that!

Splitsville!

Splitsville!

Megan Fox: Guys everywhere had their hope restored yesterday when news broke that Fox and fiance Brian Austin Green called it quits.  News flash, boys: she still isn’t going to get with you!

The CW: In an unusual move, the netlet gave early pick-ups to 6 of its shows: Gossip Girl, 90210, One Tree Hill, Supernatural, Smallville and ANTM.  That means TeenDramaWhore is very happy!

Liz Smith: The longtime gossip queen has been cut from the New York Post.  At least she still has wowOwow but who knows if that makes any money?

Nickelodeon: After being the front-runner in kids programming for so long, there’s no question now that Disney Channel has come ahead in the race.  But can Nick come back?  We say yes.  Kids and tweens are fickle.  They’ll watch whatever is “good” and “popular.”

Jonas Brothers: Speaking of kids and tweens, their beloved trio will making surprise visits at theatres across the country at screenings of their movie.  Hope medical personnel will be on hand for all the fainting!

Defamer: (via Gawker) has a fun/creepy look at celeb relationships that have gone sour long after the tattoo ink dried.

Twitter: Damn those 140-character limits!  Journ George Stephanopoulous had to explain that he ate potates, not “pot” at Obama-sponsored lunch.

SIZZLED OUT: Jane Fonda

STILL SIZZLING: All this month TMC will pay tribute to this former president who had a lucruative career before going into politics.

Worthy of praise and scholarly study?

Worthy of praise and scholarly study?

Obama: It was only a matter of time before a political cartoon relating to our new president caused outrage.  Freedom of the press?  Low blow? Undecided how we feel.

Solange: Beyonce’s little sis had a little scare yesterday when she passed out and woke up in the hospital.  She took to her Twitter to tell everyone the problem was just dehydration.  So is this the future of PR?

Oprah: Caught part of an episode today and saw she was communicating with guests via Skype.  So is the future of talk shows?

Oscars: If you’re not into the nominated movies (and believe us, it’s possible!), here are three other reasons to watch: Zac Efron, Miley and Robert Pattison.  Still not convinced?  Yeah, we didn’t think so.

The Hills: One of the shows that will be the subject of panels at this year’s Paley Festival.  The Hills?  Seriously?

MC Hammer: Getting his own reality show on A & E.  Didn’t know he had 5 kids!  But also not really surprised…

Katherine McPhee: In addition to appearing on an upcoming episode of Brothers & Sisters, the former American Idol contestant will do a guest stint on CSI.  Looks like someone has a case of the acting bug!

USA Today: We like this headline–‘Lost’ and ’24’: Simple titles, complex, brilliant shows.

Facebook: A recent uproar about Terms of Service changes may have been quelled but it’s still worth reading what happened and who was behind it.

SIZZLED OUT: Justin Guarini

STILL SIZZLING: This popular former game show host admits he’s not one of its “loyal” viewers.  Guess he doesn’t want to come on down to TV set.

kanye-west-birthday-party-rihanna

Kanye with his "baby sis"

Rihanna: Most publications are reporting, based on “sources,” that she was indeed the victim of Chris Brown’s alleged assault.  (The first to name her, perhaps unethically, was the Los Angeles Times.)  As such, PEOPLE has an article on Kanye West’s concern for Rihanna: he’s “devastated” and would do “any and everything to help her.”  He also says he thinks RiRi could be “the greatest artist of all time.”  That’s a little much, Kanye.  You can stop now.

Obama: The Mrs. will be only the second First Lady in history to be featured on the cover of Vogue.  The first: Hillary Clinton.  We would’ve guessed Jackie O!

Obama Pt. 2: Gave the Huffington Post the honor of being the first online publication to be called upon in a White House news conference.  Will SIZZLE be next?  (Hey, we can dream, can’t we?!)

Grey’s Anatomy: Katherine Heigl and T.R. Knight are as good as gone.  Apparently it’s just a matter of “when.”

Adam Sandler: If this doesn’t mean hilarity, we don’t know what does.  Sandler will star alongside Chris Rock, Kevin James, Rob Schneider and David Spade in a yet-to-be-titled movie.  It’s gotta be funny, right?

Queen Latifah: Not best known for her singing but the girl does have a voice. She’ll prove it later this month when shes sings  the classic “I’ll Be Seeing You” at the Oscars.

Future TV: A new report argues that, in the future, we’ll have the capability of watching TV through contact lenses.  Tattoos that allow us to feel the character’s emotions may also be possible. Sounds bizarre.  And incredibly intriguing!

My Network TV: In its own futuristic move, network is planning to stop being, well, a network.  Instead it will just have two hours of syndicated programming each week night.  The rest will likely be paid programing a la infomercials.  As long as it includes ShamWow, we’re in!

Sports Illustrated: If the cover model (Bar Refaeli) for the Swimsuit issue is going to pull her bottoms down, couldn’t they at least make sure she didn’t have any tan lines? Or is that supposed to be hot or something?

Celeb Mags: No wonder we can’t get hired!  The grocery line staples are suffering from major losses right now.  Not that we didn’t already know that.  And not that we wanted to work for tabloids, anyway.  PEOPLE (our dream job!) was the only mag to grow!!!!

SIZZLED OUT: Nick Cannon (Mariah Carey)

STILL SIZZLING: A first-time survey by Forbes ranked this actor, known for his sitcom and movie blockbusters, as “Hollywood’s most valuable,” meaning he is the best at “ensuring the financial success of film projects.”

Can you believe this was 14 years ago?!

Can you believe this was 14 years ago?!

Grammys: Great show.  Full recap here.

Chris Brown: WTF is going on?!  Please tell us Rihanna is not the woman he got in a fight with!  Will this kill his previously-stellar rep?  Or is he innocent until proven guilty?

Usher: Canceled his pre-Grammy performance after someone in his family was injured.  PEOPLE claims it was his wife, Tameka Foster, and from a plastic surgery operation.

Blink-182: In addition to announcing their reunion at the Grammys, the group also updated their official site with the news.  “Friendships reformed,” new album, world tour.  So exciting!

Jennifer Aniston: Making a movie about artificial insemination.  Foreshadowing?

Jennifer Aniston, Pt. 2: Says she wouldn’t be opposed to a Friends reunion special.  Hurrah!

DWTS: Announced contestants include: Denise Richards, Steve-O, Lil’ Kim, Jewel (and her husband!) and Nancy O’Dell.  Full list here.  No one interests us.  Sad.

Obama: Inspiring election campaigns in Israel…even though they didn’t want him to be president.  Gotta love that bandwagon!

BAFTAS: Slumdog Millionaire won SEVEN awards!  Jeez.  Spread the wealth, guys!

Will Ferrell: People may be walking out of his Broadway show but we have a feeling Will Ferrell gets the last laugh.  Anyone who can show former President Bush’s penis in a show is obviously quite funny.

McDonalds: Sponsoring Fashion Week and giving away free coffee.  Do fashionistas drink coffee?  Or is it that they take anything that’s free?

The Daily Beast: Suggests Jessica Simpson’s weight issues could lead to a financial gain.  ‘Cause, you know, that’s what’s most important.

SIZZLED OUT: Ricki Lake

STILL SIZZLING: If it’s not one thing, it’s always another for this sports star.  His recent headlines about his lovelife are being overshadowed by a new report: testing positive for steroids!

No more swimming for you! Or free cereal!

No more swimming for you! Or free cereal!

Michael Phelps: After photos surfaced of him smoking pot, Phelps has been banned from the US Swimming for 3 months and lost his Kellogs endorsement deal.  We always find it really frustrating when people are punished in their jobs for their private behavior!

Beyonce: First there was beef with Aretha Franklin.  And now…Etta James.  The singer that Beyonce portrayed in Cadillac Records–and whose song she sang to Obama at his inaugeration ball–says she “can’t stand” Beyonce and is going to “get her ass whipped.”  Ladies, no need to get physical!

Katy Perry: The quote we talked about earlier this week was errononeously reported by PEOPLE and Perry is pissssssed!  Rightfully so.  Is our favorite celeb publication slipping?

Jennifer Aniston: Let’s hope this quote is right–“”The man’s got balls. What can I say? I think he’s funny,” Aniston on boyfriend John Mayer.

Miley Cyrus: After being criticized for taking so-called racially-insensitive pictures, the singer says she didn’t mean to insult anyone and is convinced people are targeting her “now that Britney is back on top of her game.”  Yep, Miley, that’s exactly why…

BSB: Nick Carter is opening up about his struggle with alcohol and drugs.  That’s 2 out of 5, people…

Superbowl: Just like with Nipplegate, the FCC will investigate this year’s Superbowl porn snafu.

NCIS: Two stars are attached to the new spin-off: Chris O’Donnell and LL Cool J.  Can’t see the latter in this type of show, though.

Blink-182: It’s not quite the reunion we had in mind but the 3 former band members will appear together at the Grammys.  It’s the first time they’ll share a stage in more than 4 years.

Grammys: Speaking of, we’ll be live-blogging the event, so be sure to come back this Sunday at 8PM ET!

SIZZLED OUT: Travis Barker and Shanna Moakler

STILL SIZZLING: This former talk show host will be taking over for Sharon Osbourne on the next edition of VH1’s Charm School.

We could've been sisters!

We could've been sisters!

Britney: Apparently those restraining orders come with a price.  Sam Lutfi is suing Brit Brit for defamation.  Wonder if the court will rule him a public figure?

Miley Cyrus: They’ve both dated a Jonas Brother (more on them below!) and now they’ll have something else in common: Grammy performances.  Cyrus will duet with Taylor Swift on this Sunday’s show.

Obama: The Sasha and Malia dolls are being renamed Sydney and Mariah.  Obama wins again!

Twitter: Ashton Kutcher is peeved that media outlets are taking some of his Tweets and misrepresenting him.  Or so he says on his blog.  Which he took to because “140 characters works for some things. Sometimes you need more space.”

TV: The Los Angeles Times is reporting that a new study shows watching TV can lead to depression.  That’s funny, because TV is what keeps us out of it!

HBO: In yet another example of art imitating life, the cable network is developing a new series that will explore the current finanial crisis.  Are they sure spending money on this series is a wise idea given the crisis in the first place?!

Gawker: With newspapers failing and even online sites suffering, Gawker asks: would people rather pay to read the current level of NYT journalism, or have it go away? Not an easy question when you love The New York Times but can’t afford to “waste” money like that.

Gawker Pt. 2: They also put up a hilarious poll asking which Jo Bro you’d lay off.  We know, we know…all of them!

SIZZLED OUT: Justin Timberlake (Jessica Biel)

STILL SIZZLING: Though rarely seen in public, this actress–and close Madonna friend–is denying she, too, is having marriage troubles with her own Brit.

Scroll down to see when this classic episode first aired!

Scroll down to see when this classic episode first aired!

Jennifer Hudson: Maybe we’re reading too much into it but her face just seemed so sad during her Superbowl performance, the first one since the tragic deaths of her mother, brother and nephew in October.

Bruce Springteen: The Boss, on the other hand, was overly enthusiastic, going as far as sliding across the stage…and slamming his crotch into a camera.  Just as funny: when he said “I’m going to Disneyland!”  Guess he forgot he was in Tampa and in Florida it’s called Disney World!

The Daily Beast: Their lookback at some of the best post-Superbowl programming includes a classic Friends episode with Julia Roberts and Elisabeth Hasselbeck’s debut on Survivor.  Our favorite: Kevin and Winnie’s first kiss on The Wonder Years.

Britney: News broke late on Friday that she and her conservator (aka her dad) obtained restraining orders against Adnan Ghalib and Sam Lutfi, the creepos who were in life back when it was going down the tubes.

Michael Phelps: So aside from the fact that smoking marijuana is illegal, we don’t see what the big deal is.  It’s such a common thing for people his age.  And it’s unfair that, because of his Olympic success, he’s been put on this pedestal in a role model-like position.  Cut him some slack!

Oprah: We have to wonder if hiring a former MTV CEO to head up her network is the best idea.  Something tell us MTV and the Oprah Winfrey Network won’t be going after the same audiences…

Obama: The other famous O is featured on the cover of Entertainment Weekly and it’s quite an unflattering photo.  They made his head look huge!

Wheel of Fortune: If you watch all this week, you’ll see the contestants that we taped with!  Our episode, however, doesn’t air til the 27th.

SIZZLED OUT: Anna Faris (Chris Pratt)

STILL SIZZLING: ABC Family shook up their schedule by announcing 3 news shows–and the canceling of this cult fave.

Wonder how Diddy's feeling right about now...

Wonder how Diddy's feeling right about now...

Jessica Simpson: This doesn’t happen that often. Simpson said some wise words at her concert last night: “”I feel like in our world today we focus on so many things that are completely pointless.”  No doubt she’s referring to the recent hubbub surrounding her weight.

The View: Co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck is pregnant again!  This will be her third baby in less than 4 years!  We should be so lucky!

Obama: The Washington Post claims cartoonists are focusing too much on emphasizing the new president’s lips.  Racist or not?  Or just comes with the territory?

The CW: Returning to the listings grid in TV Guide.  In case you actually still need one of those things.

Danity Kane: The Making The Band/Diddy-formed group has completely broken up.  Guess they’re really damaged now!

Superbowl: Just face it: no party you plan or attend will top what the stars have planned for the big day.  We can’t wait til we’re famous!

The Office: After the game, don’t forget to watch the star-studded episode, which is sure to get super ratings.

Forbes: On their Web Celeb 25 list, Perez Hilton comes in a number one for the second year in a row.  How much longer do you think that’ll last?

Twitter: New to the game and don’t know who to follow?  As a companion piece to the above article, Forbes also has a list of the most influential Twitterers.

SIZZLED OUT: Rachael Ray

STILL SIZZLING: This actress, mostly known for the endless aray of spoofs she’s starred in, is getting serious with a former Everwood actor.  They’re engaged!

Looks good to us!

Looks good to us!

Jessica Simpson: Just the latest star to get slammed online for gaining weight.  Like it’s a crime to be a size 8!  Surprisingly, sister Ashlee made a great case on her blog as to why we should just leave Jessica–and all women–alone.

Slumdog Millionaire: The families of the child actors that played Latika and Salim are alleging they’ve been exploited by the film’s execs and production company.  Could this be the end of Slumdog’s positive press run?

The Reader: Will get to submit 4 producer names in the Oscars Best Picture category instead of the usual 3, since two of those producers (sadly) died partway through production.  Sounds fair, no?

Lisa Kudrow: Producing a new reality show where celebs such as Sarah Jessica Parker and Susan Sarandon research their families.  Sounds fascinating, just like most reality shows.

Facebook: Seems like every day there’s a hoard of new fan pages.  Most popular page: Barack Obama.  Wonder how long til that ends?

Facebook Pt. 2: A new study suggests how many friends you have in life are related to your genes.  And now Gawker is trying to use to that to explain Facebook and a user’s popularity.  Something got lost in translation, no?

Joaquin Phoenix: Entertainment Weekly says they have sources that prove Phoenix’s foray into rapping is a “hoax.”  Yawn.

PETA: Their ad for the Superbowl was rejected but it seems they won out in the end (and it was all purposefully done) to attract people to view it–and PETA’s message–online.  The ad is pretty scandalous, we must admit.

Tyra Banks: Getting the “exellence in media” award from GLAAD.  Never thought the two had much in common but guess we’re wrong.

Twitter: If you’re on it, you should follow NUTwitProject and help some students try to save the world.  Okay, not really.  But you should still follow them and answer their questions!

SIZZLED OUT: Ugly Betty

STILL SIZZLING: Looks like someone new does in fact own them!  This classic 90s feminist movie is headed to Broadway.
