Wish him a happy birthday!

Wish him a happy birthday!

Lost: Premieres tonight.  Too bad we never jumped on the bandwagon.  It’s probably why we can’t enjoy this Lost/Heroes spoof.

Lost, Pt 2: But whether you watch the show or not, The New York Times has fascinating read on the guy in charge of keeping track of every single character and plot development.

Mad Men: Here’s another we haven’t gotten into.  But it’ll be back for a new season!  Never too late…

Ashlee Simpson: Who’s more desperate?  Ashlee and babydaddy Pete Wentz or CSI for employing them?

Oscars: We’re only a day away from the nominations and we finally know who will be doing the big reveal: Forest Whitaker!

Shia LaBeouf: Though he never faced charges from his summer crash, his license was still suspended for refusing a sobriety test.  Know what that means?  One year of being chaffeured around!

Jennifer Hudson: As news surfaced that she’ll perform at the Grammys, the alleged killer of her relatives plead not guilty to murder.

Obama: There’s no doubt that the question of our generation will be where were you when he was inaugurated?  But The St. Petersburg Times points out some other key and relatively recent historical events covered by the media.

Facebook: Had more than 1.5 million status updates related to Obama yesterday.  Wonder what Twitter had?

Twitter: They probably did pretty well, at least according to this.

Spongebob Squarepants: It’s been 10 years since we first met he who lives in a pineapple under the sea.  Nickelodeon is celebrating with a documentary.

TMZ: Large TV audience —-> constant episodes—-> spin-off —-> more terrible TV.  Any questions?

STILL SIZZLING: This ABC star confirmed today that her husband–and father to her two young twins–is suffering from cancer.

Idol's new judge is getting married!

Idol's new judge is getting married!

American Idol: Back tonight.  Will you be watching?

American Idol Pt. 2: New judge Kara DioGuardi announced today that she’s engaged.  Randy Jackson is the only other married judge currently on the show.

American Idol Pt. 3: Yes!  David Cook and Kimberly Caldwell broke up!  This means we still have a chance!

Jennifer Garner: We have a name for daughter number two.  And we don’t like it one bit.

Howie Mandel: In and out of the hospital for an “irregular heartbeat.”  Maybe Deal or No Deal is just too exciting for him?

Prison Break: As expected, the show won’t be back next year.  We all can admit the show has run its course.  That said, we have no idea how it’ll end! And why do they still call it canceled when the shows execs and actors even say they don’t want to continue?  Mutual decision, people!  Canceled does not convey that!

Josh Holloway: The Lost star told PEOPLE some pretty disturbing details about he and his wife being held at gunpoint in 2005.  Never want to imagine what that’s like.

Allison Sweeney: Life just got even busier for The Biggest Loser host and longtime Days of Our Lives star: she gave birth to another child!

As The World Turns: If you missed yesterday’s show, you missed a lot. Gay characters Luke and Noah, who caused a firestorm when they kissed on the show more than than a year ago, finally had sex.  Of course nothing more than shirtless making out was shown but it’s still a big step forward.

Vogue: Insiders are speculating that putting Blake Lively on the February cover is a sign of how bad things are for the mag.  Not sure we get it, but whatevs.

Facebook: It’ll take another year but the social network could outpower MySpace.

Forget Spiderman. There's a new hero in town!

Forget Spiderman. There's a new hero in town!

Patrick Swayze: In the hospital with pneumonia.  This can’t be good.

John Travolta: Is it wrong that we have such intimate details of his son’s memorial service when Jett himself wasn’t even a celebrity or public figure?

Golden Globes: Not airing til Sunday night but PEOPLE wants you to get jealous now by reading about all the planned celeb parties.

Neil Patrick Harris: Doogie and the rest of the How I Met Your Mother cast not only extended their contracts but more than doubled their salary.  Not bad.

The View: The co-hosts were on a special panel held by the New York Times.  Why?  We still don’t know.

HSM: KayCee Stroh (the pop and lock it girl) got married today.  Zac and Vanessa were not present.

Blagojevich: Finally impeached but still not resigning.  Makes for another awesome animation by the Chicago Tribune.

Obama: Featured in a special issue of the The Amazing Spiderman comic.  Apparently Obama himself is a comic book collector.  Who knews?!

Obama Pt. 2: Everyone seems to think Michelle will have this huge impact on fashion.  We don’t see it happening but maybe that’s just because we didn’t live through Jackie O?

Miranda Cosgrove: The up-and-coming tween star will get to scope out her competition when she hosts MTV’s countdown of the top 12 teen “cribs.”  Insert your own tween/crib joke here.

Facebook: There’s a war on nipples.  ‘Nuff said.

Picture this digitized

Picture this digitized!

Critics Choice Awards: On Vh1 last night but it’s not even worth listing the winners.  Same old, same old.

CCA, Pt. 2: It is worth noting that Rooney was the first-ever house band.  How random is that?

CCA, Pt. 3: We love how, in “professional” things, Ludacris becomes Christopher Bridges.

CCA, Pt. 4: Quote of the night came from Jason Alexander, to Brangelina.  It was something like “Even if you don’t win, you get to go home with him and you get to go home with her, so it’s all good!”

CCA, Pt. 5: Who knew Richard Gere was a Buddhist?!  And hates the current administration so much?  Quite interesting.

Twilight: There’s a pretty funny spoof, High School Musical style, making it’s way around the net. You’ll probably appreciate it most if you don’t like Twilight or HSM.

Grey’s Anatomy: Getting its own videogame.  No idea why.

Smallville: Likely coming back for a season 9.  We didn’t even realize the show had been on for that long.  Time flies!

Melrose Place: Looking forward to the remake?  Well then you probably want to see where the original cast is now.

Cinemablend: Has a list of the 100 people “Most Likely To Die in 2009.”  Just so wrong…and yet, in some ways, probably right.

MTV: Should their website feature advertising for the morning-after pill? Sketchy line to cross!

DTV Transition: Worried about losing your signal when television goes all digital in February?  Congress may give you more time to make the change.  But make sure you make it!

SIZZLED OUT: The Mentalist

STILL SIZZLING: This fast-food chain is offering a deal: delete some of your Facebook friends and you’ll get a discounted burger.

The comic book version looks nothing like this. Who knew?

The comic book version looks nothing like this. Who knew?

John Travolta: Jett’s official cause of death is seizure disorder.  Doesn’t make it any better.

DWTS: Co-host Samantha Harris says her dream contestant would be soon-to-be Oscar host Hugh Jackman.  Can’t see that EVER happening.

TV Guide: Has an awesome calendar keeping track of the 71 (!!!) winter premieres!

Seinfeld: You can watch it in HD…if any station buys the episodes first.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer: It’s not a movie but will you settle for a new comic?

Newsweek: Don’t know what Antihero Overload is?  Example: Jack Bauer and co.

Facebook: Can you not use the words Palestine or Gaza?  Apparently so.  Thought they’d be the last ones to do any sort of censorship.

Twitter: Celebs aren’t the only ones on there.  A whole slew of newspapers are, too!

SIZZLED OUT: Carrie Underwood

STILL SIZZLING: Doth the lady protest too much? This gal is once again insisting she’s still with her significant other.

The new parents are keeping it in the family!

The new parents are keeping it in the family!

Gossip Girl: Back from its winter hiatus tonight!  And so is One Tree Hill!  We couldn’t be happier!

Jennifer Love Hewitt: Before the holidays she was engaged.  After the holidays she’s single.  That time of the year can be hard on all of us, we tell ya.

Rebecca Romijn: Gave birth to twin girls last week, one of which is named Charlie…as in Jerry O’Connell’s brother Charlie.  Awkward?

Jennifer Hudson: Contrary to rumors, she won’t be performing at Obama’s inauguration.  Wonder when she’ll get back out there?  Not that we can blame her…

The Bachelor: As we said in November, we’re very interested in seeing what happens this season, which premieres tonight.  A single dad going on a dating show?  So not fair to the kid.

NYT: Credits “superheroes” with saving the film industry in 2008.

NYT Pt. 2: Unfortunately for them, their own industry has yet to be saved.  More evidence of how bad things are: the newspaper will now have ads on its front page–a very non-traditional move.

Men’s Vogue: Going from a previously announced 2 issues a year to…none, according to The Media is Dying.

Perez Hilton: Expect to see him everywhere this week hawking his new book.  Groan.

Facebook: Celebs with legit profiles include Lance Bass, Julie Benz and Josh Groban, but good luck finding them!

Twitter: That nasty virus is still going around and led to the hacking of some celeb accounts.  Guess that helps this article which advocates banning them altogether!  Maybe they should join Facebook?

Sizzle: Check out the shout-out we got on the One Tree Hill Blog!

SIZZLED OUT: Georgina (Michelle Trachtenberg), Gossip Girl

STILL SIZZLING: This former Idol was voted favorite star under 35, a new category for the People’s Choice Awards.

He's probably regretting that break-up right about now...

He's probably regretting that break-up right about now...

John Travolta: Posted a statement on wife Kelly Preston’s official site, thanking fans for their condolences and expressing their sadness.  We can’t even begin to imagine what they’re going through.

DWTS: Mario Lopez must be pissed!  His ex (and former dancing partner) Karina Smirnoff is engaged to fellow DWTS pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy.  What a sordid love triangle!

Twitter: Major password-stealing virus making its way through.  Thankfully, we haven’t been affected so far.  (And you should follow us at @sizzlemaker!)

Facebook: Suing Power.com, a new site that lets users track their various social media accounts in one place, for copyright infringement.  Curious to see how this all plays out…

Broadway: At least 12 shows are closing in the coming weeks, though there’ll be new openings on off-Broadway.  Not the best situation but not the worst, either.

SIZZLED OUT: HBO

STILL SIZZLING: A much-talked about character is rumored to be returning to this hit CW show.

this totally turns us on!

We admit it: this totally turns us on!

Tom Cruise: Admits he was “arrogant” in his infamous Matt Lauer interview.  We forgave him a long time ago, but we know we’re in the minority.

Madonna: Will pay Guy Ritchie between $72 and $96 million.  Well, which is it?  There’s a big difference between the two!

OTH: Hmmmm.  Supposedly even with a Melrose remake, One Tree Hill could get a seventh season–with Schwahn!  We’ll keep our fingers crossed.

Gossip Girl: The book series’ author hates the way the show depicts Aaron, Serena’s new beau.  Considering he gives us the creeps, we completely agree!

Prison Break: We watch and we watch and we’re still confused. Totally frustrating.

Rachael Ray: If you looked forward to the chatterbox having no voice for several weeks, you’ll have to wait a bit longer.  Surgery has been called off for now, as a new treatment for her sore vocal chords seems to be working.

The Crow: One of our favorite cult movies is being remade!  But we really can’t see anyone but the late Brandon Lee playing the lead!  Lee was killed during film when a real bullet accidentally dislodged from a prop gun.  So sad.

The Office: Here’s one more reason to watch the post-Superbowl episode: Jack Black will be on it!

Facebook: Decreased in value by more than $15 billion!  What do you think it’s worth?

SIZZLED OUT: Terminator

STILL SIZZLING: This athlete was just kicked off his team–more fallout from trash-talking a rival and former actress-girlfriend.

He will never NOT look good!

He will never NOT look good!

Michael Phelps: “Out of shape” but “having fun.” Can’t blame the guy.  That’s how we live!

Bush: Who knew throwing shoes was an insult?  We’ll have to try that sometime!

David Paterson: No idea why he was targeted on this week’s SNL.  Totally uncalled for.

The Media is Dying: One of our favorite Twitterers is getting some press play.  Love the irony.

OTH: Nooooooooo!  Why is Mark Schwahn signing on for the Melrose Place remake?  We don’t want anything to take him away from One Tree Hill!

Facebook: At Barnes and Noble yesterday, we saw a bunch of how-to books.  Still to come: a book on the social network’s founding–and possibly, a movie!

Gawker: Putting its own spin on the year-end top 10 lists with the worst pop culture bits.  Pretty dead-on except we actually liked 27 Dresses!

Chicago Tribune: Here’s a good test of journalism ethics.  The paper actually knew about the Blago stuff back in October but held off on going public to help the FBI.  That ended, obviously, this past week–too soon, if you ask the Justice Department who wanted them to keep quiet for longer.  Who was right and who was wrong?  Tough calls all around, we thinl.

SIZZLED OUT: Jesse McCartney

STILL SIZZLING: Christian Bale will have his hands full now that this movie series is moving forward.  And, no, it’s not a Dark Knight sequel!

One of the best songs ever. Try to convince us otherwise!

One of the best songs ever. Try to convince us otherwise!

90210: If we dislike the new show show so much, how come we get chills every time we see a promo for its January return?

The CW: Notoriously shut out from awards, just like its predecessor The WB.  So Kristin over at E! Online is holding her own CW-only awards.  Pretty cute.

TV Guide: We don’t get this AT ALL.  TV Guide the magazine and TVGuide.com the web site are now owned by different companies.  So one of our favorite writers, Matt Roush, will no longer be on the site.  WTF?

Eminem: Denying reports that his new album will include a follow-up to one of our favorite songs, Stan.

Tara Reid: Checked into rehab but no word on what she’s there for.

Tommy Hilfiger: Reportedly got married last night.  Most interesting to us: he gave his fiance an 8.2 carat engagement ring!  So how sparkly is the wedding band?!

American Idol: If they cancel their hugeeeeeee charity event, Idol Gives Back, will they lose credibility?  Or will people understand given the economy?

Economy: Who has a clever name for the current recession/depression/doomsday?  The New York Times are looking for it!

Gawker: Can now comment on their blog through your Facebook accounts.  Kudos actually goes to FB, we think.

Rod Blagojevich: Deleted his Facebook account after his arrest–but not before getting slammed with insults from other users.

Rod Balgojevich Pt. 2: The Chicago Tribune has a pretty funny animation based on the governor’s profanity-laded conversations.

John Ritter: Got a really good tribute on last night’s Family Entertainment Awards, 5 years after his death.

SIZZLED OUT: Jonathan Safran Foer (schadenfoer!)

STILL SIZZLING: This musician says he wants to follow in Justin Timberlake’s footsteps.  With his own hit song last summer and writing a hit for another new star, we don’t think he’ll have any problem finding more success.
